​Funk has a friend in Bootsy Collins, one of the most flamboyant and flashy "funk 'n' roll" musicians around. Playing bass with James Brown in the late-'60s and then beaming up to the Mothership to join Parliament-Funkadelic in the '70s, Collins has made a career out of mastering the groove, and his show at First Avenue this Thursday should be a treat for old and new funk fans alike.

Gimme Noise has a pair of tickets to the show on Thursday, and we'd like to send one of our readers for free. To enter, simply tell us what you love about Bootsy in the comments, and we'll randomly draw a winner at the end of the day.
