TV on the Radio were scheduled to play two sold-out shows at First Avenue this past April, but those shows were sadly canceled at the last minute when the band got word that their bassist Gerard Smith had lost his battle with lung cancer, a fight that had kept him off the road for their most recent tour.

The band is now picking up the pieces and getting back on the road, starting with an appearance at the Pitchfork Music Festival next month in Chicago and taking them through the U.S. on a tour in support of their new album Nine Types of Light. As part of that tour, TV on the Radio will come to First Avenue for two make-up gigs in the Mainroom on Tuesday, August 30, and Wednesday, August 31.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 10 at noon, and both shows are 18+ and $20. According to First Ave's site, fans who purchased tickets to the original shows will need to exchange them for tickets to these rescheduled performances.
