You hate the video and "Beyawnce" so bad but you sat on your tired butt and watched it.  In reference to you question "Do all black girls want to be white?"  Don't you wish a white girl had it going on like we do 'Sucky.'  That's right I'm beautiful and black.

• The goal is to have a little something for everyone. In the past 24 hours we've also posted about Olivia Tremor Control, Pink Mink, Girl Talk, a Radio K DJ, and published a checklist of shows to see this weekend that skews local. Don't let a lil Beyonce vid depress you, it's definitely not the only thing we've got going on around here.

• Was there an official announcement when City Pages became the online newspaper partner of KDWB and B96?  I was under the impression it was, at least in theory, it was an "alternative" weekly...or something like that.  My weekly check in finds Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Beyonce posts dominating the landscape (and the last time I heard anything from this direction it was reported from a Rihanna concert).  Thank god you are covering these artists, because if you didn't, who would?  Luckily there are no local bands doing amazing thing or smaller national acts that deserve attention, because if you just parroted what Teen Beat was covering while ignoring all of that great music, that would be sad....right?
