Coheed and Cambria's bassist arrested for pharmacy robbery
Our sister blog True Crime Report has the story:
On Sunday, that band was scheduled to play the opening slot for Soundgarden at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Alas, Todd badly needed some Oxycontin before taking the stage.
So he went to a Walgreens in Attleboro. He walked up to the pharmacy desk and showed the druggist his cell phone, where he had written a note saying he had a bomb. Then he asked for six bottles of the pain medication.
So far, so good.
But his skill as a robber went decidedly downhill when he failed to arrange for a getaway car, a rather important element of the stick-up trade. Instead, the moron hailed a cab to take him back to the arena. Witnesses, naturally, got the name of the cab company, which easily traced where the cab was headed.
By the time Todd reached the Comcast, the cops were already waiting for him.
Coheed and Cambria have already replaced Todd with a new bassist and will continue on with their tour as planned. Todd is currently in jail, having been arrested on charges of armed robbery and possession of a controlled substance.
"We are surprised to say the least and will address the situation with Michael after the tour," the band posted to their Tumblr. "For now, we just want to have a great time out here and finish with some killer shows in Boston, Poughkeepsie, Quebec City and Halifax."
