Tommy Stinson's solo record 'One Man Mutiny' out August 30

​When seasoned rock 'n' roll bassist and songwriter Tommy Stinson came to Minneapolis this past May for a gig at the Mainroom, he hinted that his second solo album was finished and nearly ready to be released. Now, that album has an offiical release date and a name: One Man Mutiny will be offered up on Stinson's own label, Done to Death Music, on August 30. Part of the proceeds from the sale of One Man Mutiny will be sent to the Timkatec Schools in the Pétionville district of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, the same organization that Stinson raised thousands of dollars for last year via an online auction of his own memorabilia. "The older I get the more I do think about my philanthropic desires," Stinson told City Pages in May. "I've had a good career and I've been very lucky. There's a time to give back, and I think that time has come."

One Man Mutiny will feature Stinson's fiancée Emily Roberts singing harmonies on many of the songs, including duet "Destroy Me," and the title track was recorded with Stinson's Guns N' Roses bandmates Dizzy Reed and Richard Fortus while the group was on tour last year. The record was produced by Phillip Broussard, Jr., who also worked on Stinson's first solo album Village Gorilla Head in 2004.
