Independent labels suffer loss of stock as Sony warehouse burns in London riots

​As London recovers from its third straight night of rioting, news is spreading back to the U.S. that over 150 record labels that use PIAS UK to distribute their physical stock abroad have likely lost huge amounts of inventory in a fire. A massive three-story Sony complex that housed the entirety of PIAS's stock has reportedly been burned to the ground.  At least one Minneapolis band, the now defunct Fog (who have since morphed into new band the Cloak Ox), is feeling the impact of the fire today.

PIAS UK posted a statement on their website: "There was a fire last night at the SonyDADC warehouse which services the physical distribution for [PIAS] in the UK and Ireland. [PIAS] is working closely with SonyDADC who are implementing their emergency plans. [PIAS]'s UK offices in London and all other areas of our business are unaffected. More information will be communicated shortly to all our labels and partners."
