Kanye West, Jay-Z cancel Minneapolis "Watch the Throne" tour date

Kanye West and Jay-Z have been taking fans in the Twin Cities on a roller coaster ride this week -- and not the fun kind with glitter cannons and verses about which rapper's watch cost more money. No, this roller coaster found people getting amped up over the announcement of an October 8 show at the Target Center, only to be left hanging a week later when we learned that the show might be rescheduled. And now? We're being plunged into the depths of disappointment as we find out the Minneapolis stop has been canceled all together.

Kanyeeeeeeee!

The final word came in tonight from Live Nation, who just released the confirmed set of re-routed tour dates. Kanye and Jay-Z's "Watch the Throne" tour was slated to launch September 22, but has now the tour kick-off has been pushed back to October 29 and several dates have been axed.

If it's any consolation, dudes offered up a statement to the cities that got jerked around, via a press release: "Jay-Z and Kanye West thank their fans for their support and hope to return in the future."

For those looking for a winter road trip, the Throne will still come to Chicago on December 1.

Sad to say it, but i downloaded their album off the internet just because of this right here! Jay-Z is 40plus i doubt he'll make another stop in Minneapolis before he hangs the Mic up.

Does anyone know why there are no New York dates schedule? Just wondering.. That answer would do nothing to heal our pain though, obviously.

SO MAD!!!!!!  I just cannot believe how horribly the whole situation was handled.  Weeks of publicity, Target Center sent me an email reminding me about the sale on Monday, and on Tuesday morning it was gone.  We ALWAYS get passed over.....ALWAYS!  But don't worry, you can see Taylor Swift or Keith Urban sometime this year.  UGH!!!!!

No idea actually, because all I've heard is that Jay wanted to do like 4 NY shows.  Some say it's because of MSG being renovated and maybe there are no dates that work available right now, but you already KNOW they'll add NY shows.  They'll prob add them at the very end for the grand finale of the tour.  I'm so bitter!!

But.....they have to feed their families!  The half-billion Jay is worth just isn't enough.  What a**holes. And the crappy thing is, joke's on us.  Don't wanna buy their album?  Don't wanna drive to see their show?  It's ok.....the millions and millions of other people that didn't get totally screwed will be glad to take our places.

i agree it's been handled horribly, but in this case the blame is likely on the artist, their management or booking agent.

they made drastic changes to the routing & tour schedule AFTER it was already confirmed & announced.

from all accounts Target Center was working around the clock to try and get a show confirmed.

Tickets didn't even go on sale! Date was taken off hours before the presale was suppose to start. And the Target Center date would have EASILY sold out.

You're right, I'm just so mad about it.  How can you release dates and then take it back??  I'm not trying to blame the Target Center, def not their fault, but it IS the fault of both Live Nation AND Jay and Ye for releasing tour dates and a presale schedule prematurely, and then pulling the dates last minute.  And the fact that 2 other cities -- Montreal and Tacoma -- got their tour stops back after being pulled like us, and they ADDED KC, NO, AND Pittsburgh while still omitting Mpls, just adds fuel to the fire.  Bad business all around, but Jay and Ye will still make their millions and millions (on top of the hundreds of millions they already have) as will Live Nation, so the joke is, once again, on us.
