Ryan Adams will wrap up new tour in Minneapolis

​Ever the unpredictable artist, Ryan Adams will re-emerge this fall for his first tour since declaring he was supposedly quitting music (or at least, quitting touring with the Cardinals) back in 2009. With a new solo album, Ashes & Fire, out October 10, Ryan will depart on a West Coast tour in October and travel the East Coast and Midwest this December, ending with a date in Minneapolis on December 13 at the State Theatre.

It will be Adams' first show in the Twin Cities since 2008, when he opened for Oasis at the Target Center. He also played an intimate, lush set with the Cardinals at the Cedar Cultural Center (coincidentally, one of the first shows I reviewed for City Pages) the year prior.

Tickets for the State Theatre gig go on sale this Saturday, October 1, at noon. Adams will be joined on tour by Jessica Lea Mayfield.
