The Cloak Ox prepare for release show at Loring Theater Friday night
With appearances on Radio K, The Current's Local Show with Cowboy David Campbell, and this amazing new video from the kids at MPLS.TV, you'd think the Cloak Ox were the hottest new thing since Coldplay, destined to play the back of some semi-truck on Jimmy Kimmel in between Vagazzle and Triphoria ads or something like that. Well let's hope so.
Set in a warehouse of tires and pallets stacked to the ceiling, the new video for "Vacuum Cleaner" showcases another driving start and stop rock jam from the band's new CD, Prisen, which drops tomorrow (no vinyl?!).
The band, which is essentially the original touring members of Andrew Broder's Fog, discussed the new EP last weekend on the Current's local show and performed three songs, including the song "Prison," which is not to be confused with the title of the new record Prisen. And there's a sweet video of that, too:
The release show is this Friday at the Loring Theater in Minneapolis, and it promises to be a good one with a well rounded bill that includes Tender Meat, Seawhores, and Kill the Vultures. Since the band members have had their own personal renewals, the show is a perfect way to end an awesome month of music in the Twin Cities and a great way to bring in the fall.
