So far, no talk of another tour. But we'll keep our fingers crossed.
Low-fi legends Guided By Voices just can't stay in retirement.

Not that we're complaining.

GBV have announced plans for the release of a new album, Let's go eat the factory, slated to come out January 1, 2012.

This will the GBV classic '90s lineup's first new release since Under The Bushes, Under The Stars in 1996.

From the sounds of things, GBV isn't straying from its roots. According to PASTE, the whole album was recorded in band members' living rooms, basements, and garages.

There's no talk of a tour yet, but we're keeping our fingers crossed.

Until January, we leave with this video for "I am a scientist" off GBV's classic 1994 release Bee Thousand to hold you over:

This is the "classic lineup's" (the reunion lineup) first album since 1996. The last Guided By Voices record was in 2004.
