Twin Cities' surf rockers Howler released the first single, off of their forthcoming album America Give Up, set to drop in January of next year from Rough Trade. The song, "Back Of Your Neck,"  trots across the band's familiar rocky sun-drenched terrain, and is available for free download via the band's website.

Howler's currently touring the UK throughout November and December, supporting the young West London buzz-deities the Vaccines, whose 2010 debut album climbed to a solid #4 on the UK charts, and who NME trumped up as "The Return Of The Great British Guitar Band."

They've been compared to the Strokes in their supposed launch pad footing ready and set for explosive meteoric rise, so Howler's supporting slot means a hell of a lot for the band as they gig through the lead up to their record's release date.

Howler will be in Europe touring until at least February of 2012, meaning their album drop will happen while their overseas, so it's unclear when the next home visit will come. If  "Back Of Your Neck," is a weathervane for the rest of America Give Up however, get ready to have Howler in your head for the next year.
