Apart from the headliners, Eau Claire's Bon Iver will be making the trek out to
the Californian desert for the festival, which also sees the much
anticipated reunions of At The Drive-In, Refused, and fIREHOSE. As with
any festival of this size, there is bound to be something to match just about anyone's
music tastes, with Pulp and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds sure to
please the Brit Pop fans, Amon Tobin, Avicii, and DJ Shadow representing
the electronic contingent, and Cat Power, Mazzy Star, and Jeff Mangum
certain to make the sensitive music lover swoon. And the seemingly endless list of great bands performing over the now six day festival goes on and on.
The real challenge is going to be successfully pulling off the magic that is the Coachella festival twice, and many people are wondering if the organizers are getting too greedy for their own good. What works so well once might not be as effective and special the second time. But it does give concertgoers options if they can't make it to certain dates, and accommodates the huge number of music fans who were shut out of getting tickets to last year's sold-out fest.
Festival passes go on-sale at 10 a.m. PT on Friday, January 13th, and are expected to go quickly, especially with the world-class talent scheduled to perform.
