Daniel Levy's memorial gets $1 from each Honeydogs' album release show ticket
The evening should prove to be a cathartic, emotional experience for both the band and the countless fans who have showed the extended Honeydogs family support over these difficult days. But music can and surely does soothe the soul, and on this night it should elevate everyone in the club. The band are obviously excited to be sharing their new songs with their fans, so much so that they have even made plans to head down to Austin for SXSW for the first time in years.
The Honeydogs made the new album in a creative rush, with most of the tracks being recorded in one day. Levy claims that they are leaving in the mistakes so listeners can edit them out themselves, which he claims will make for one "labor intensive listening process." Whether the finished project reflects that 'warts and all' approach remains to be seen, but I'm sure the new record will be full of the melodic, soaring choruses that the Honeydogs have become known for, and the emotional impact of the new material will certainly resonate even more strongly given the heartbreaking recent events.
Advance tickets for the Honeydogs First Avenue show on March 10th go on-sale this Friday at noon. And since $1 of each highly affordable $10 ticket sold goes towards Daniel's memorial, let's just go ahead and sell First Avenue out, why don't we?
