Jack White's "Love Interruption" video premieres

Throughout his celebrated music career, Jack White has never stayed quiet for very long. And while he's been busy as of late producing and recording various acts for his Third Man Records label, he recently shared the exciting news that he will be releasing his first solo record, Blunderbuss, on April 24. The first single from the album, "Love Interruption," has been streaming on White's website for two weeks now, and a video for the pensive, acoustic-laden track has just been released today.

"Love Interruption" features White (who also directed the video) along with Ruby Amanfu on back-up vocals, Emily Bowland on clarinet, and Brooke Waggoner on wurlitzer electric piano. And while the new single (and the accompanying b-side "Machine Gun Silhouette") are quite restrained compared to White's raucous previous output, and certainly show the countrified effects of his move to Nashville, it's great to hear Jack make music where he is the undeniable focal point once again.

In addition to the new album, White has also announced a string of his first ever solo headlining shows, as well as a couple of festival dates. Ticket to his headlining shows go on-sale to Vault members this Wednesday at noon, while general on-sale for those shows begins at noon on Friday, February 17th. No word yet on a full-scale U.S. tour, but I'm sure there will be more shows announced as we get closer to the album's release date. Here's to hoping that White doesn't forget about all of the great crowds he has played to here in the Twin Cities over the years, and he schedules a local date sometime in the near future.

I just really don't care for the Black Keys, even if they go solo.
