Polica: Wandering star Channy Leaneagh finds her path

Just a day after Trampled by Turtles made their TV debut on Late Show With David Letterman, another Minnesota-bred act hit the national airwaves. Polica brought their multi-emotion, two-drum attack to Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and performed "Leading to Death" from their debut album, Give You the Ghost.

You could tell this was already set to be a great performance from the moment Fallon introduced the band. He took special zeal in pronouncing the cedilla (the "ç") found in their name, and off they went.

Although the stage setup that puts drummers Drew Christopherson and Ben Ivascu directly next to each other is fun to see for its synchronicity, this look is still good. Singer Channy Leaneagh made healthy use of her left arm to tease out the emotion of the track. Watch below.

That's an odd choice of a song to take to TV.

What?  Jimmy Fallon introduced the band from Minneapolis.  This might make one think MPLS has a music scene. Jordan Gatesmith would so not approve of this.

I wonder how the general non-current public thought about this performance.

Also, her voice sounded much lower than it did the other few times I've seen them live.

I neeeeed to see this band live.

They performed with more emotion and panache than any other live show I'd seen yet. But why in the world are you trying to deconstruct Fallon's pronunciation of the cedilla, Channy's use of her left arm and positions of the drummers? Seems trivial in comparison to the amazing heartfelt performance.

That damn auto-tune makes her sound like she's in the Black Lodge. "That gum you like is back in style."

I know she's not lip synching, but why the hell does it look that way?

Wow! Just browsing through their tour dates, it looks like you'd better buy tickets to Harriet Island Festival or wait a long time. I guess we shouldn't have slept on them all winter!

So CP should just ignore a distracting element from their performance just to be "nice" instead of pointing it out so that Polica can improve their future television performances?
