Brute Heart, Claps, Food Pyramid, set for Heliotrope 9 at the Lab Theater -- Updated with daily schedule

The Heliotrope music festival consistently brings an eclectic mix of experimental and underground music to a wider audience in the Twin Cities, and this year should prove to be no exception. A temporary move from the Ritz over to the Loring Theater last year seemed to briefly revitalize the struggling venue before it eventually closed, which forced Heliotrope to seek out a new locale to host their festivities.
Update: The daily artist schedule is below.
And find one they did. Organizers are taking their sonically adventurous festival to the cool confines of the Lab Theater in the Warehouse District for this year's ninth installment of Heliotrope, set to take place Thursday through Saturday over Memorial Day weekend on May 24-26.
Once again, Heliotrope has put together an impressive, adventurous lineup, with recent Best Female Vocalist winners Brute Heart, Claps, Food Pyramid, the Night, and the debut of Test Weapon (featuring Jesse Petersen and Tim Glenn), joining festival veterans like Milo Fine, Thunderbolt Pagoda, and a rare reunion performance from TVBC. There are always plenty of extra draws to Heliotrope in addition to the sure-to-be-stellar performances, with lots of tables of cool merch on offer (records, posters, etc.) from both the bands as well as various artistic members of the local music scene.
to the all-ages festival runs $12 for a single day pass, to $24 for a
special three-day pass, with music starting daily at 6 p.m. and going until
midnight. Go here to RSVP via Facebook.
