Summer Set Festival 2012 lineup

The 2012 Summer Set Music and Camping Festival arrives in late August, and the lineup is a doozy. Combining the powers of jam bands, electronic music, hip-hop, reggae, and all of the confluences that exist between these many worlds, this year's edition should be a shock to the system. To say nothing of the camping benefits!

Although the names Pretty Lights, Umphrey's McGee, and Big Gigantic appear larger on the poster, let's just say that three living legends of rap will be tenting it up for the weekend too. Nas, who needs little introduction and zero hype men, is one of them. The mercurial duo of Mos Def and Talib Kweli as Black Star will also highlight the lyrically powerful portion of the weekend, taking place August 24-26 in Somerset, Wisconsin at the Somerset Amphitheater. The massive lineup is below.

I'm pretty excited for the lineup. Looking forward to almost half the lineup. I have seen Pretty Lights, Umphrey's McGee, Claude VanStroke, Nit Grit, Paper Diamond, MSTRKRFT, Infected Mushroom, Lotus, Mimosa, Panty Raid, Nas, Tea Leaf Green, Matt & Kim, RJD2. All were super solid and will put on good shows. 25$ a day is a steal for the lineup. Before you bitch, listen to each act on YT or Spotify or whatever before you judge.

Pretty good lineup if you ask me, NaS and Mos Def are two of the biggest names in all of hip-hop.

This festival is the first comparable to 10k we have had since it closed. If you don't like the lineup, don't go. It's special for the rest of us.

It's not a "Debbie"..but WOW $75.00 for this is a little outlandish...

I suppose the Debbie Downers here would rather have NO music festivals to have the option to go to.

I'd go just to see PROF. totally fuckin worth it. at any rate, it'll be a good excuse to get drunk

To those who are unhappy, what local fest tops this? As far as I can tell this is the only decent fest in the area besides Soundset. The lineups for Soundtown and River's Edge are much worse than this imo.

Yeah the lineup is massive, doesn't mean its good though.

horrible lineup... wouldn't pay $20 to see these awful acts... skipping this year, look forward to next year

I agree that there are some great names in this lineup, Matt, but there is no need to use the word "fag" as a putdown.

$75 divided by 3 days = $25 a day. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

If you're looking for cheaper alternatives for summer festivals, ours is $40 early bird, includes two nights of camping and 2.5 days of music... very techno heavy lineup, also some dubstep, psy, bass stuff, and live bands and hip-hop... enjoy!  http://www.showclix.com/event/LocationClassified
