| Communist Daughter are just one of the many highlights of this summer's Music In Mears concert series. |
Thursdays full of great music continue straight through the rest of the summer. Music In Mears has expanded their musical efforts this year to include performances from three bands for each night of their series, with movies being added to the festivities beginning on July 19.
The performances are always free, and are consistently a great way for area music fans to connect with Twin Cities bands as well as bolster everyone's relationship with the growing Lowertown area of our distinguished state capitol.
Highlights of this summer's Music In Mears series include Communist Daughter on June 14, Joey Ryan and the Inks on June 21st, the Idle Hands on July 12, Zoo Animal and New Standards on July 26, a sure to be rocking triple-bill on August 2 featuring the Goondas, Maudlin, and Rockford Mules, No Bird Sing (along with Mayda and Kill The Vultures) on August 9, the Honeydogs on August 23, and Charlie Parr bringing the summer series to a close on August 30.
Each evening, various food options from area member restaurants as well as Summit beer and wine offerings from World Wide Cellars will be available to attendees, as well as food truck options and Chow Hound hot dogs, along with other various forms of entertainment and family fun.
These events are typically quite relaxed but highly engaging affairs, with local music fans getting a great chance to see some quality bands perform outdoors under the summer sun for free, all set in the tranquil surroundings of Mears Park.
More information on Music In Mears can be found on the event's website, while regularly updated show information and movie announcements will be made on their Facebook page.
