Wabasha Days 2012 at Amsterdam Bar & Hall lineup

Categories: Local Music
With this weekend's River's Edge Music Festival, next weekend's Twin Cities Jazz Festival, and the just announced Wabasha Days Saint Paul, the city that always sleeps is starting to really look alive for music fans.

Presented by Lowertown Dutch-inspired pub the Amsterdam Bar and Hall and 89.3 the Current, a series of Friday early-evening local music showcases will be a happening hot spot from 4-9 p.m. each week. The shows will take place at the outdoor Ecolab plaza, located across the street from the Amsterdam, Eclipse Records, and Big Table Studio trifecta. All events are free each week and provide a great opportunity to hang, have some tasty food and beverages, and soak up the precious sun while catching some great local music.

Jumping right into summer this week for the series kickoff is Amsterdam mainstay Zoo Animal with Aaron of the Sea, Actual Wolf, and Grant Cutler.

The shows are slated to run through the end of August. Here's a list of upcoming lineups already booked. If it's any indication of what's to come, it looks like St. Paul is the spot for sticky-sweet summer Friday happy hours and great local music.
