It's mid-July, and Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" is in full summer bloom across commercial radio, the blogosphere, and now the Big Ten conference mascots, including the University of Minnesota, have put a stamp on it far more enjoyable than Tay Zonday's.

Our cross-conference rivals (except for Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Northwestern and Purdue) got in on the zaniness. So, we get furtive peeks from behind a tree by Wisconsin's Bucky Badger, the Penn State Nittany Lion gets into the car-washing bit from Jepsen's original video, and Nebraska's Herbie Husker gets chased by some adoring cheerleaders. As for Goldy Gopher, it looks like his costume is waterproof, judging by his trip to the beach, which includes a tail-drying session.
