Are you ready for some metal, Mankato? Music fans up north better sharpen up their devil horns because Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie are bringing their co-headlining Twins of Evil tour to our highly corruptible state. Why this tour is skipping the Twin Cities--the tour's name would be apt for some great crossover marketing--in favor of a much smaller music market is anyone's guess, but fans of the heavy stuff up in Mankato certainly won't be complaining. Uptight conservatives in the area could be.

So, Manson and Zombie will be at the 8,200-capacity Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato on October 9.

Rob Zombie seems pretty excited that this tour has finally materialized. "Finally! Why did the most obvious tour take so long to happen? Who knows? Who cares? It's happening now. If good taste is the chief enemy of great art, then we should be able to fill the Louvre with this fucking tour. Be prepared for something wicked this way a-coming."

And Marilyn Manson is equally as interested in combining the musical mayhem of the two confrontational artists. "I have sympathy for the Whore of Babylon that gave birth to these twins of evil, and this abomination of a tour. There is no babysitter, and there is no repairing her womb. If Rob Zombie doesn't fuck you up, then I surely will. Hide all drugs and firearms ... I'm coming to town."

In addition to Manson and Zombie, J Devil, the DJ alter-ego of Korn frontman Jonathan Davis, is coming along for the tour to add to the festivities with his own twisted brand of musical chaos.

The tour promises to be a feast for the senses, both visually and aurally. Zombie promises to bring an "elaborate, multi-media production, complete with hair-raising theatrics, animatronic robots, oversized LED screens, a non-stop collage of psychotronic monster film clips, a spectacular light show, a gigantic robot with flames shooting out of its body, pyrotechnics, insane guitar riffs and vicious beats." Who cares what the hell the music actually sounds like with those type of wild visuals there to both entertain and haunt you.

More "Twins Of Evil" tour dates will soon be announced, and for information about on-sale dates and ticket purchases, check or Manson and Zombie have also announced plans for an upcoming 13-date European tour this winter. My Voice Nation Help

The best politician this state has claimed is Wellstone...another man from a collegiate central town south enough from the Twin Cities to be not from the Cities.  The writer should be fired.

Upright conservatives?  Check voting records as the most uptight you are referring to is very far from Mankato's history of democratic and independent constituents.

More whining and underhanded comments about Mankato being a destination. You might start asking yourselves in the Cities why more and more of these shows are targeting collegiate towns and skipping the Cities...Oh yea...Jandek just played here as well..the only Minnesota appearance in his lifetime. He practiced for 2 hours with 3 local musicians and came away with and excellent recording that should be released sometime soon. The youth and inexperience of your writers are turning your pages into an embarrassment. Stop your whining as Mankato remains its position as a musicians destination. More and more Minneapolis artists are realizing this as well and actually prefer to play Mankato than their hometown of Minneapolis, frankly they are getting sick of it.
