With all of the great local and national albums that have been released as of late, now is a perfect time for Electric Fetus to have their annual Garage Sale and Fall Festival. And this year, the good folks at the Fetus have stepped up their game to include a day filled with live music this Saturday, September 15, as well as steep discounts on vinyl, CDs, and DVDs, exciting giveaways, and other music related fun planned for both Saturday and Sunday.
The music lineup for Saturday features an eclectic mix of talented local bands who are sure to make your record shopping a memorable experience. Things get going at noon with a set from the emerging young singer/songwriter John Mark Nelson, who just celebrated his CD release with a captivating show at the Entry last month. Next up will be the local indie rock band the Farewell Circuit, who are also set to play a vinyl-release show for their excellent new record, In Our Bones, later on Saturday night at Cause.
The soulful hip-hop trio the Chalice are also set to perform at the Fetus, and the girls are getting set for their highly-anticipated EP Release show at the Entry on September 28. The fledgling high school quartet Bomba de Luz keeps the strong local lineup going with an early afternoon set, and the experimental electro-rock quartet Phantom Tails will close things out at 4 p.m.
This will be a great chance for Twin Cities music fans to catch free sets by some new, break-out bands in the local scene while also flipping through the racks at one of the country's best record shops.
In addition to the heavily discounted garage sale items, music lovers can also take 15% off regular priced items inside the store on both Saturday and Sunday. And if the live music and discounted prices aren't enough to entice you, Electric Fetus are also bringing in food trucks from Nate Dogs and YumMi Bahn Mi to keep you well nourished, and vitaminwater will be providing free drinks to quench your thirst.
Blacklist Vintage will also be on hand on Saturday with some stylish threads to check out, and in addition Warner Music Group will be handing out freebies as well. And, if the discounts aren't substantial enough for you, on Sunday the Fetus will be offering an additional 50% off of all garage sale items. It looks like Christmas has indeed come early for music lovers here in the Twin Cities.
