From Bon Iver's September 21 performance at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
This was a memorable weekend for our border neighbor folk act Bon Iver. Justin Vernon's band just spent a recent four-night swing performing at Radio City Music Hall in New York -- and if there's not a live album somewhere lurking within all of that, we'll eat our Gimme Noise sunglasses.

Also of note, Vernon's interview with David Campbell on the Current's Local Show aired on Sunday night, and it included -- among several engaging stories about his life in Eau Claire and recording with Kanye West -- a tidbit that suggests that Bon Iver may not be long for this world.

From the interview transcript:
Campbell: What is the latest with Bon Iver? What are you up to these days?

Vernon: Winding it down. I look at it like a faucet. I have to turn it off and walk away from it because so much of how that music comes together is subconscious or discovering. There's so much attention on the band, it can be distracting at times. I really feel the need to walk away from it while I still care about it. And then if I come back to it -- if at all -- I'll feel better about it and be renewed or something to do that.
Also in the interview, which is transcripted here with audio clips, Vernon mentions his upcoming work on at least three projects. So whether we hear new stuff from Volcano Choir, the mysterious collaboration with Gayngs' Ryan Olson and Astronautalis, or something completely different, there's going to be no shortage of output from Vernon. Definitely check out the rest of the interview, which as in-depth as any with Vernon that we've seen in a while.

And then, the HD stream of the 97-minute Bon Iver performance at Radio City Music Hall is waiting here, but only for the next 48 hours:

It looks as if the stage has been transformed into the world of "Holocene" and "Towers" with rough brown fabric hanging from the ceiling of the majestic concert hall.
