As the Twin Cities music scene grows, more and more artists are creating music that demands our attention. Combine the music with talented filmmakers locally and beyond, and you have a fruitful mix of distinct skills that generates more locally connected music videos than ever before.

While it's impossible to shine a spotlight on all of the great music video work going on around the area, Gimme Noise has created a new regular segment, Local Frames, which will help bring some much deserved attention to a few of the standout videos of the moment from local bands or those filmed by local directors.

Here's our twelfth installment of Local Frames, featuring ten recent video selections for your viewing pleasure.

Night Moves - "Country Queen"

The guys in Night Moves made a sufficiently spacey and retro-looking video for "Country Queen," the new single from their debut record Colored Emotions. The clip was directed by Issac Gale and David Jensen, and was shot locally at the Ritz Theater. The atmospheric lighting and use of heavily stylized silhouettes gives the video a decidedly throwback look, which perfectly compliments the soaring sound of the burgeoning Minneapolis trio.

Leisure Birds - "SETI Signals"

"SETI Signals" is the lead-off track on Leisure Birds' excellent new album, Globe Master, released by the always awesome (but now Oakland based) Moon Glyph label. The video is directed by the talented Ben Marcus, and fully captures the futuristic, sci-fi sounds of the inventive Minneapolis quartet. And while the video edits down the intoxicating sprawl of the nearly nine minute recorded version of "SETI Signals" to a more manageable four minutes, this wild clip still gives you a strong idea that Leisure Birds have indeed hit on something great on their second full-length.

Caroline Smith and the Goodnight Sleeps - "Lack Of Height (Live at First Avenue)"

Caroline Smith and the Goodnight Sleeps have been quite busy as of late, putting the finishing touches on their new record which should see release sometime in 2013. And with that fresh batch of new songs, the band are heading to the Cedar Cultural Center for a hometown show on January 10th. To get local fans excited for the gig, the group have just released a live video for "Lack Of Height," which was shot at their show at First Avenue on April 7th this year. The clip was directed and edited by Dan Huiting, with producer extraordinaire Tom Herbers handling the audio. Look for more endearing songs from Caroline and co. at their Cedar show in January.

A. Wolf and Her Claws - "Aggro-Business (Live On Radio K)"

This intoxicating live performance from A. Wolf and Her Claws comes from the Radio K studios, and finds Aby Wolf railing against the current state of food modification. The song isn't on the group's stellar self-titled debut, so this clip is a small glimpse into where they are taking their spiraling sound in the future. The video was shot by Jack Buckholz, Zoe Peterson, and Alex Breyfogle, with audio by Tanner Uselmann, as the good folks at Radio K capture another terrific Off The Record! session.

Ben Kyle - "Thank You"

Romantica frontman Ben Kyle has just released a stark, stirring new collection of songs under his own name, and "Thank You" is the first single taken from that album. The appreciative, acoustic-driven track puts the spotlight squarely on Kyle's plaintive, grateful lyrics, and the elegant arrangement augments the sentimental nature of the number perfectly. The video was directed by Sean Skinner, and is part of the Slow Studio Sessions, which feature quite a few intimate performances from the songs featured on Ben Kyle.
