Cat Power melts down in front of a class of 2nd graders

Tough crowd.
Perhaps it's time to give Cat Power a break. Look, folks, artists are particular and fragile people -- even when they're up in front of a group of schoolchildren, who scream a heart-melting "HI CAT POWER" as things commence.

Funny or Die debuted a video, directed by Alex Fernie, today showing Chan Marshall playing some children's songs for a 2nd grade class. And it went sort of the way the Cat Power show at Mill City Nights did back in October -- though instead of photo lenses, she takes issue with the kids doing a little hand dance along with "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and stops the song.

Things continue down an oddly compelling path, and it's a window into the self-awareness performers feel, whether they let on or not. Plus, why must the alphabet be always be performed the same way anyhow? "No one gives a shit about Q."
