"These albums rocked."
Making lists of things is important. Lists are great for grocery shopping, keeping track of irresistable kisses if you're Daryl Hall, remembering things you're supposed "To Do," and the corralling of the finest albums of a musical year. The Hold Steady's Craig Finn knows this, and has added an extra caveat in creating a top 10 for 2012.

"A lot of my friends made really great records this year," he told Brooklyn Vegan. "To keep myself sane, I've created a list of my top ten records by people I don't know personally. Compiled quickly, probably with some ommisions."

Finn was just in town for a couple of shows with his band and a surprise Replacements tribute, and his tastes overlap heavily with acts that have played here recently (or will soon).
