89.3 the Current's 8th birthday party 2013 lineup

Now that the year is new, it's time again for 89.3 the Current to herald its lengthening life with a weekend of shows at First Avenue. The tastemaking radio station has revealed the lineup for the two-day bash being held January 18-19.
The wunderkind John Mark Nelson, who finished tied for third in 2012's Picked to Click poll, is taking part. Seven other local gems from different genres are on board, including Cloud Cult touting songs from their next album, the 4onthefloor, and Now, Now. Tickets go on sale at noon Friday, and as you might expect, the Current's members get premier access to admission.

More information for Friday's show here. Info for Saturday's show here. Both shows begin at 7 p.m. and are 18+. Tickets cost $18 and go on sale on Friday, January 4 at noon. A valid MPR member ID number is required for the pre-sale. Any extra tickets will be made available online to the general public at noon on Saturday, January 5.
