The year got off to a rough start for Astronautalis and his roommates in northeast Minneapolis when a fire tore through their home. Not only did the flames damage a lot of their stuff and make the place uninhabitable, but items were stolen after the fact too. All without renter's insurance, the rapper, Claire Monestario/La Manchita, Dirty Donuts' Vicki Seymour, and Jeremy Jetson/Spyder Baybie Raw Dog have plenty of costs to recoup.

It's heartening that a bunch of local friends and musicians are pitching in for the Burning Down the House benefit show to be hosted by Botzy (Culture Cry Wolf, The Best Love is Free) Friday, March 8 at the Sound Gallery in downtown Minneapolis. The full lineup just came out, and it's impressive.

Here are "The Seashore" inhabitants after the fire.
The full lineup probably won't be known until you're in the building -- and you can bet that a few names not mentioned on the flyer will probably grace the stage. Here's what's officially confirmed:

While the music roars in the back half of the venue, DJ Young Baby Ander Other will spin for a dance party in the front room. Sarah Schatz will create live art in the space. Concessions will be provided by Dirty Donuts -- who lost all of their ingredients in the fire, and are in a serious rebuilding phase -- and Fort Wilson Riot. A silent auction featuring a selection of local artists will also help raise funds.
