After launching the series earlier this year with Trampled by Turtles, MN Original and TPT have gotten the go-ahead for another episode of their live concert series The Lowertown Line. This time around, rapper/activist/Nardwuar fan Brother Ali will be the featured performer.

In March, Ali stirred up discussion at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum, and our ears are still ringing from his collaboration with Atmosphere, Carnage, and Haphduzn to mark the Welcome to Minnesota tour. In May, just a few days before he performs at Soundset 2013, Ali will hit the Lowertown stage over in St. Paul.

This episode, which will tape on May 15, is considered a second pilot to raise awareness for the show, and hopefully lead to the funding to make it a regular featured program on TPT. This episode is set to feature Ali answering questions from fans in an audience Q&A after the performance.

The free first-come, first-served tickets were all snapped up almost as soon as this show was announced to the public, but the great thing about TV is that the end product will be available for viewing online and on TPT after the fact. More info here.
