Lollapalooza 2013 full lineup: The Cure, Nine Inch Nails and more

Categories: Lollapalooza

A bit of the Lollapalooza 2013 lineup trickled out a couple weeks ago, but today this year's offerings got taut, dark, and -- most importantly -- official. Though the plan initially was to drop the full, gargantuan list of bands in two more weeks, the timeline got pushed up when a pre-April Fool's poster made its way online and it looked quite real.

On it, we found names such as Nine Inch Nails and the Cure, as well as previously confirmed performers Mumford & Sons, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, the National, and Postal Service. Today we discover that a greater blend of genres does exist in the 2013 iteration of Lollapalooza via Ellie Goulding, Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey, Crystal Castles, 2 Chainz, New Order, Cat Power, Death Grips, and plenty more. Peep the lineup coming to Chicago's Grant Park on the weekend of August 2-4 below.

My other evidence: Looking at the lineup listed on the Lollapalooza site, about 90% of the bands listed are the same as last year, which Lolla never does.

This has to be an April Fools gag. Bands this big would have been announced before the tickets went on sale. Not to mention, NIN isn't touring currently, as Reznor & co are going on tour as How To Destroy Angels. As for the Cure, I'm not even sure Robert has a full band line-up currently. I call shenanigans.

oh great, trent reznor. yi-pee... and lana del rey? i usually cannot give less of a shit about most of these bands, but so much black clothing and so much eye make up and 95 degree weather, this is the year when emo teens will either die of overexposure to heat and ridiculous lyrics about your girlfriend leaving OR they will all become jugaloos.

@Jason Bistodeau That's why you have to look for the gems in the 10% although I'm not sure that number is accurate...

Have you checked out The Neighbourhood yet? Their live show is gonna be awesome!

@Jason Bistodeau i challenge you to name me 20 that were on last year's lineup.

I beg to differ.  NIN has announced they have been working on new material, a somewhat new lineup, and a full US arena tour to happen this fall.  Take a look at their website, it is updated with a handful of gigs.  Get with the times son!
