Marijuana Deathsquads remix P.O.S., plan tour with Solid Gold

Erik Hess
It's truly a great time to be part of Marijuana Deathsquads. In addition to their engrossing "Music Rocks" May residency at Icehouse (which continues tonight with an MDS rap set, as well as a performance by Lizzo alongside Lazerbeak and Cliff Rhymes as they bring LIZZOBANGERS to life, and DJ Plain Ole Bill), the sprawling collective is also involved in the recent flurry of musical activity coming out of the Totally Gross National Product camp.

But the inventive crew isn't planning on stopping there. News is now coming out that not only have MDS been busy reworking P.O.S.'s stellar recent record, We Don't Even Live Here, with a bunch of their creative cohorts for a forthcoming remix album entitled POS WDELH MDS RMX, but the collective are also planning on hitting the road this June on a short U.S. tour with their good friends Solid Gold.

The tour, which is hitting some venerable venues throughout the East Coast and Midwest, will also feature both Ben Ivascu and Drew Christopherson on drums, as the inspired rhythmic duo take a well-earned break from Poliça in order to hit the road with MDS. The crew also just played an insane in-studio at Radio K, which we will be featuring prominently tomorrow on Local Frames.

As for the P.O.S. remix album, POS WDELH MDS RMX is set to be released for free this June via both Rhymesayers and Totally Gross National Product. It will feature new verses from P.O.S. himself, as well as contributions from Stef's Doomtree allies Sims, Cecil Otter, Lazerbeak, and a whole host of imaginative folks throughout the Twin Cities vibrant music scene.

To get a taste of what you can expect from the remix album, give a listen below to the wild MDS RMX of "Piano Hits," a track that already featured the work of MDS's Isaac Gale on the original studio version.

@Tash Casso Since you clearly don't know anything about marketing yourself.  I'll give you a hint: an article about MDS remixing POS is not the right venue to spam for your over 55 living complex.  Have fun in your next career as a former real estate agent
