Prince will be closing out his tour in his home state with a full set list that's loaded with new songs and old classics.

On May 25, Prince will play two shows at Myth, including an early all-ages show at 8:00 p.m. as well as a later show at 11:30 p.m.

Tickets will go on sale on Saturday at noon for $259, which is comparable to what our neighbors on the West Coast had to shell out for a night of purple rain.

Update: Lower-priced tickets just became available. Second tier floor tickets for both shows are now $149, and third tier balcony is $99. Additionally, the $259 tickets also include a VIP express entry and an all-you-can-drink wristband.

250 is way too much and I've read that The Myth was the idea of the ladies in the band.

Sorry Keith Maplewood is east of 35e that would make it north St.Paul.

The "cheapest" is still essentially $100 bucks? What a joke.

Someone tell the people at Myth that they've been in Maplewood this whole time, not St Paul. They're off by like 3 miles and Maplewood is no St Paul: not even close.

People this isnt rocket science. Prince can sell out the Xcel Center. So when you put an act of this caliber in a smaller, more intimate venue the price goes up. I think the price is high and surely would never pay that for prince, but i dont care for Prince much. If you want to wait for Prince's next arena tour which will have $50 tickets than just wait and stop bitching.

According to The New York Post, Prince donated profits from his April 21st concert at the Roseland Theater in Portland to the American Music Program so the high school jazz group would be able to travel and compete in theEssentially Ellington competition at Jazz at Lincoln Center May 10-12.

In some cases, People here don't appreciate our hometown artists like the rest of the world does  Artists that are genuine musicians on the level of a Miles Davis consider him to be a legit genius. I figure they would know.  So, if anyone gets to him once live, for any price, you might be seeing a once in a lifetime event. Priceless. Maybe?

Those ticket price is RIDICULOUS, but there are enough people with disposable cash and crazy Prince fanatics who will buy a ticket, and happily so.  It's also likely that what will happen is what has happened already a few times on this tour, which is that lower-priced tickets will go on sale right before, or the day of, the concerts.

What will happen is, hardly anyone will buy tickets, and Prince will have one of his ego trips, and cancel both shows.

$259? No thanks. Glad I just saw Cloud Cult and am going to Dylan in July, since both are far more talented, important, and revolutionary Minnesota artists than Prince will ever be...

$259? Good Lawd! How about I pay $25.99 to see the first 3 songs?

SO GLAD I saw him at Dakota, in much smaller setting, for only 70 buckaroos. Phew.

"Tickets will go on sale on Saturday at noon for $259." I know it's Prince but....really? Just for comparisons sake, how much does it cost to see Madonna or Lady Gaga or something? Is it similar? I passed on seeing him at the Dakota for less than that (even that last night that was supposed to be the coolest).

@nonfiction No, actually Princess is commanding a high price so she can get media attention. Her career is so hopelessly over that she has to resort to a venue in fucking Maplewood MN. Even First Ave. wouldn't sponsor her show. Why? Because Princess was so 1984. 1984 is long gone. And so is Princess' career. Even if he show goes on, I wonder if she will wear her high heel boots.

@Adam David Klugherz You clearly have no idea about music.  Prince has more talent in his left pinky than all the members of Cloud Cult have combined.  Music fans throughout the world know of Prince.  Cloud Cult, on the other hand, doesn't have much of a following outside of MN.     I love Bob Dylan, but c'mon Prince and him are different beasts.

@Adam David Klugherz The price is crazy, but not as crazy as putting Cloud Cult in the same category as Bob Dylan and Prince.  Cloud Cult has done nothing in comparison to Prince in terms of talent, importance, or revolutionizing music.

@Calvin Woody Like Chris Rock: "How much for just one rib?"

@Ross Levine One would have to pay ME to see Madonna or Lady Gaga.  Neither have the ability to put on a show like Prince.  Hence, the price of tickets.

@keny1 @nonfiction Haha.  Prince recently sold out the O2 Arena (24,000 capacity) 21 nights in a row.  His current tour consisting of smaller venues and $250 ticket prices is also selling out.  I don't know too many artists whose careers are hopelessly over doing this. As far as playing at Myth, their management stepped up and landed him.  First Avenue would have loved to have - what venue wouldn't?  You can now go back to playing with yourself Keny1.
