On Friday night, Minneapolis punk vets Dillinger Four headlined the second show of what turned out to be a four-night stand to celebrate the annual Dillinger 4th of July. The show featured D4's newest dad Paddy Costello would be sharing the bill with a crew of lively rockers marking a hot night at Triple Rock.

As Toys That Kill took the stage, the crowd had already seen a full night and a half of the hand-picked favorites of Dillinger Four and the Triple Rock scene. With their crunching guitars and style of punk that verges more on a progressive indie-punk sound the band railed through their own style of driving shout-along anthems that inspired much stage diving from the already well wound up packed house.

With a full-throttle sound of their own, Austin's Riverboat Gamblers were no strangers to the Triple Rock and have long been associated with Dillinger Four. As purveyors of their own sound that veers to a more hardcore flavor, they had the audience singing along to their intricately composed melodies and inspired verses. Lead singer Mike Wiebe commanded the stage and took several dives from atop the guitar amplifiers.

"I don't like it, I won't fight!" he sang with his passionate vocals and intense delivery he channeled the energy whilst crowd-surfing and managing to play the tambourine. It was a real treat for the crowd to have Riverboat Gamblers come all the way from Texas for the occasion.

Finally after much more drinking in the crowd Dillinger Four were up next "This first song is about puppets! Happy D4th of July!" Paddy Costello proclaimed from the stage.
