Charlie Parr is set to play the 15th Annual Northeast Folk Festival

Free music festivals and summertime seem to be made for each other here in the Twin Cities. And the Northeast Folk Festival has been entertaining area music fans for 15 years now. This year's free 15th Annual Northeast Folk Festival is set for Grumpy's NE on Saturday, July 13, with both an indoor and outdoor stage filled throughout the day and night with talented local folk bands and musicians.

The free festival starts at noon, with Baby Grant Johnson kicking things off on the outside stage, with Bitter Spills closing things down indoors at 11:30 that night. So, you get an entire day packed with entertaining folk artists like Martin Devaney, Charlie Parr, Liquor Pigs, Gabe Barnett, Country Mike, Bob Rue, Alicia Corbett, John Magnuson, and Paul Metsa & Willie Walker, to name just a few. All for free! You just can't beat that deal.

The NE Folk Festival is a rain or shine event, and is set to take place both inside Grumpy's Northeast location, and at the outdoor stage adjacent to the club. For everyone who likes folk music, free music, or a jubilant combination of both, this festival is definitely for you.
