After hitting a Twins game last Father's Day, Trampled by Turtles made their return to Target Field on Wednesday. The gorgeous day for an afternoon game against the Cleveland Indians got an extra boost from Dave Simonett and company as they picked through several songs during breaks of a contest that was no pitcher's duel.

TBT are the latest in a series of the Twins' Midwest Music Showcase artists to participate in games this year. The 4onthefloor and P.O.S -- who had Astronautalis join him for "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" -- both took part earlier this year. Watch the Duluth group's version of the song below.

Nagel mentioned that there's likely to be a lot more music at Target Field next year following the success of the sold-out Skyline Music Festival. It brought in 7,000 fans to see Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Soul Asylum, Matthew Sweet, and the Gear Daddies to perform on the third base line back in July.

On August 28, the series' final show of the season will take place during the Twins-Royals game, and it'll feature an act picked from submissions from other local acts. We'll let you know here when it's announced.

As for the Trampled by Turtles guys, they laid into each of their performances with just as much intensity as you'd see at a typical show. Bassist Tim Saxhaug even snapped one of his strings! Here's "Take Me Out to the Ballgame."
