Keeping with their mission of getting students up close and personal with the successful musicians based in the Twin Cities, McNally Smith College of Music has announced a fresh grouping of concerts in their third annual Sound Bite Series.

The concerts, which include a Q&A hosted by 89.3 the Current's David Campbell, jump across music genre disciplines and happen in a more intimate environment than what a person attending a typical Astronautalis show can expect. The Harley-obsessed rapper, who just dropped a Four Fists collabo with Sound Bite album P.O.S, will kick off the season this October. The full schedule is below.

2013-14 Sound Bite Series Schedule:

Oct 7, 2013 -- Astronautalis
Nov 14, 2013 -- Lucy Michelle & the Velvet Lapelles
Jan 30, 2014 -- Jacob Hanson & Guests
Feb 27, 2014 -- Chris Koza
March 27, 2014 -- BK-One

For each show, the tickets will initially be available to students at McNally Smith a week ahead, and then diligent members of the public can get their hands on free access to the show via the school's Facebook and Twitter. Gimme Noise has crashed a few of these shows, staged in the cozy confines of the Sound Bite Cafe, and it's an opportunity to see even an artist you know well in a fresh context.

Sound Bite Series. Doors for each show open at 6 p.m. Sound Bite Cafe, 19 E Exchange St, St Paul.
