The Voice returns with local hopeful Holly Henry
The Voice kicked off yet another season this week, fresh from a Sunday-night Emmy win for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program.
The reality show -- which focuses on judges creating super teams of talented singers based solely on contestants' voices -- enters its fourth season with all four original judges back in those familiar, spinning chairs. Last year, Shakira and Usher took over for Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, who have returned to coach amateur singers to fame with Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
Last night, yet another Minnesotan wowed the judges during the blind auditions.

Native Minnesotan Holly Henry showcased her gentle, but powerful vocals with her blind audition selection: Coldplay's "The Scientist."
Shelton barely let Henry sing the first line of the song before he slammed his hand onto the chair-turning button. In fact, all four judges ended up turning around during Henry's performance before trying to woo her onto their respective teams. Ultimately, Henry chose three-time Voice coaching champion Shelton to help achieve her goal.
The platinum blonde 19-year-old recently graduated from Hopkins High School in 2012.
While Henry performs with the chops and poise of a seasoned pro, she admitted to the judges that she hasn't taken the local stage yet. Instead, she has been steadily working on her songwriting and launched her Bandcamp page this summer.
With just three songs on her Bandcamp, Henry still manages to assert her creative identity with crystalline vocals that leap from note to note and a guitar in the background of songs that have a hint of youthful darkness.

Other singers from Minnesota who have competed on The Voice include Tim Mahoney, Jordis Unga, Mark Andrew, and Season Three's Nicholas David who came in third place.
After only one day online, Henry's blind audition clip has garnered more than 35,000 views on YouTube, and her cover of "The Scientist" has broken the iTunes Top 100.
