Tim Dunbar, overnight radio host at KS95, passed away at his West St. Paul home on Sunday night. Dunbar, 52, was on medical leave at the time of his death, and was undergoing radiation treatments after recently being diagnosed with throat cancer. According to medical examiners, he died of a pulmonary embolism, a blood clot that reached his lungs.

Dunbar, who grew up in South St. Paul, was scheduled to return to KS95 next week following his recent medical leave. And the KS95 airwaves have been quite heavy this week, as their on-air hosts have clearly been saddened by the news of the passing of their friend and colleague.

Dunbar's evening host and roommate Darrin Stone posted this heartfelt message on Facebook shortly after hearing of Dunbar's passing:

TO ALL TIM'S FRIENDS:

As you may, or may not know, I am Tim's friend and have been his roommate for the past 8 months.

It is with a painful heart, and the deepest sadness that I must tell you all... Tim passed away sometime yesterday. The cause is unknown at this point, but first indications are it was sudden.

Arrangements have yet to be made. As of now I will be the point person for information and details, and I will let you all know more as soon as I can.

Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Tim was my brother. My best friend. I will miss him deeply.

KS95 radio hosts Moon & Staci shared some memories of their friend Tim on air on Monday, and you can listen to their fond recollections of their colleague at the KS95 website.
