The Black Keys announce 2014 tour dates -- Minneapolis in October

The Black Keys have just unveiled extensive plans for a 2014 world tour that stretches for most of the rest of this year. The dates are in support of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney's forthcoming eighth album, Turn Blue.

Ever-changing, the Keys are toying with psychedelic rock on their newest single, "Fever," which pits Auerbach as a soaking-wet evangelist in its video. Support for these dates includes St. Vincent, Cage the Elephant, and Jake Bugg for different stretches of the tour.

The guys seem to be in an ugly podium state of mind these days, and "announced" the tour in a somewhat bizarre fashion.

The Black Keys will hit Minneapolis on October 24 with a return to Target Center. The British rock troubadour Jake Bugg will be there as the opener.

Hate the Target Center. Haven't wasted any money in there for years. Polite pass.

Target Center sucks for acoustics even with the updates. I was there at the last Black Keys show and the sound was ok in spots, bad in others. Arcade Fire was a great opener but their sound also lends to smaller venues (yes I know they sell out in England at similar sized venues to Target).

I hope the Keys start to test the limits with their sound a little more. So many of their songs sound similar.

Ug. Target Center? No thanks. I drove to Kansas City to see a band last month to avoid seeing them at Target Center.

@k2yeb Arctic Monkeys right? Because I'm certain that Arcade Fire hasn't opened for the Black Keys... ever.
