The Walker Art Center's Summer Music & Movies series has consistently provided Twin Cities film and music lovers with a wonderful -- and entirely free -- night out that celebrates the eternal link of both creative mediums.

This year's lineup incudes Greg Grease (above) and his new ZuluZuluu project, the Cloak Ox, and more paired with iconic films. Showings and performances are every Monday night in August. Loring Park hosts the events on August 4, 11, and 18, and Walker's Open Field is the setting for the final night on August 25.

The Cloak Ox will be first up on Monday, August 4, playing a high energy set before Fred Zinnemann's dramatic western, High Noon.

Monday, August 11 will see a performance from Greg Grease's new experimental hip-hop project, ZuluZuluu. Grease has partnered up with DJ Just Nine, keyboardist Taylor Johnson, MPC player Trelly Mo, and a whole host of talented musicians from throughout the Twin Cities music scene for this boundless group. ZuluZuluu will be performing before Rudolph Maté's 1950 film noir classic, D.O.A.

Albuquerque by-way-of Chicago alt-country Americana duo, the Handsome Family, are set to play on Monday, August 18. Their set will certainly sound lovely under the setting summer sun, and will precede Stanley Kubrick's landmark 1964 black comedy, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.

The setting switches over to Walker's Open Field on Monday, August 25, and the lineup fittingly gets a bit avant-garde in the process. Christian Marclay's Graffiti Composition and Screen Play will be augmented by a "moving image graphic score" provided by musicians Laurent Estoppey, Ikue Mori, and Anthony Coleman. Christian Marclay will be on hand to personally introduce the evening's events, as well.
