Victor Wooten
Victor Wooten is astoundingly eclectic, encompassing bluegrass, jazz, funk, R&B, rock, and fusions of every stripe. He co-founded the Flecktones with Béla Fleck, plays with three of his siblings as the Wooten Brothers, and has collaborated with everyone from Prince to Chick Corea, Bootsy Collins, and Branford Marsalis, earning a fistful of Grammys along the way. Wooten's latest albums were 2012's simultaneously released Words & Tones and Sword & Stone, featuring the same tunes in instrumental versions and interpreted by female vocalists. Live, expect a bass tutorial and likely a potent mix of jazz and soul. Wooten's touring group includes brother Regi on guitar, drummer Derico Watson, keyboardist Karlton Taylor, and vocalist Krystal Peterson. -Rick Mason
