Wiz Khalifa at Soundset 2014

Just another day in the life of Wiz Khalifa. Early Sunday, Soundset organizers had reason to be nervous when the Pittsburgh rapper was arrested in El Paso, Texas. According to TMZ, about 0.5 grams of a "green leafy substance" was found on him during his TSA check before a flight to Dallas.

After he was taken into custody in El Paso, Khalifa started tweeting from his cell phone. It was less than 12 hours before his scheduled appearance, in the slot before headliners Atmosphere, at the sold-out Soundset Festival 2014 at Canterbury Park in Shakopee.

Wiz tweeted a shot of himself in a cell Sunday morning.
Right away, this mishap turned into the ideal opportunity to promote his forthcoming mixtape, #28 Grams.
After performing at the Neon Desert Music Festival the previous evening, Khalifa was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was released after posting $300 bail.

By 3 p.m., everything was right with the world, and Wiz announced he'd be getting to Soundset -- with not much time to spare. After Busta Rhymes pulled out last year, and Pusha T exited the lineup a few days before Soundset 2014, Wiz missing the show would've been a huge blow to the sold-out show.

With this photo, Wiz tweeted "Yall freed me."
Don't forget about the mixtape:
During Khalifa's energetic performance at Soundset, he took a break at about 7:30 p.m. to thank his dedicated fans in the middle of "Young, Wild & Free."

Next: Watch Wiz give a lengthy props to his fans.

Pretty sure that's how all music festivals are and many other events that go on . And not all what 30,000 ppl attending passed out in the first aid tent. I take u don't like that type of music since u decided to call it "horse shit". Oh and maybe consider another line of work if u can't handle it.

lol, he sat behind me at the Vikings game in London, England last year. I guess he wrote a song about the Pittsburg Steelers and we played them

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the kids who were passing out were mostly dehydrated. Drinking and drugs may have helped but it's hot outside especially with 30 thousand people around you. Stupid people exist so don't bring that bs here.

Soundset was awesome. Wiz really put it down with a great performance. Stop whining and arguing and go outside.

When doing EMS at an event like this you take this upon yourself. No, the ones you deal with are not fun I understand that but the tiny percentage of people you deal with represent a small amount of the people attending. People don't use their heads and drink to much in the sun and mess up. And there is the drug use which I won't go into. I thank you for doing what you do and the other Medical Staff at events. We as festival goers can do a bit better taking care of our brothers and sisters as well. I hand out free water I pay for and make rounds by the stage checking on strangers that need a little love, give them water and try to spread a little message to take care. It's one person, but if we all pitched in we can make a stronger, safer community. I have been on both sides of the fence on this. Older now and mellowed my ways. But I don't judge the promoters, artists, nor the fan base because of these incidents. And to single out this festival is bullshit. I have been to hundreds of festivals of all genres and its all the same. Same as sporting event, bars/clubs, campgrounds, and numerous activities. Sorry for the tainted view your service has caused you. I do understand. But look around a bit and see where we can make a difference and look at the thousands of others using there heads and having a great time for something they love and pay for.

But yet it's cured cancer, been used to treat adhd among many other things. It has no negative affects in the body. Used to be required that farmers grew hemp seed in the 1800's and was made illegal because it was cheaper to produce than other things used for textiles and was hurting big business, and the arguments used to make it illegal were sexist and racist. Good job America. Keep on blazing!!! :)

Wow. Surprised at how some are upset. He has a right as a person and an artist to say what he wants. And most of that speech was actually real and uplifting if you take the cannabis comments out of it. Should never discredit a persons views and values. You just do what you feel and let others do the same. The hip hop culture definitely had a few scenes that are either down with cannabis or other shit, and there is a strong straight edge scene as well. To shame on Sound Set promoting or supporting drug use because Kalifa does what he does is stupid. They support artists that love what they do, they support free speech, which hip hop is founded upon. They and the people that support them and the artists support each other despite our differences and hold one another up to be the best they can be. That's what music is, it's love. And MN has a lot of it! To the lady complaining about Sound Set and not paying a dime, keep your money and attitude and let me know when you find a music scene/festival that makes you happy. One that discriminates an artists beliefs, and runs with an iron fist sounds like what your looking for. Need to believe in your values and let others do the same then you can be happy with your self. There are groups at every festival that are clean people and they celebrate that amongst the smokers and partiers. If you love something such as music you deal with that because its unity and love. One persons values do not represent everyone involved.

Way to promote drug use, possession, and disobeying laws... If this is what Soundset is about I know I'll never be spending a dollar in support of them. Regardless if it's just pot or whatever else.
