Turf Club finalizes grand reopening weekend lineup

As most local music fans are well aware, the Turf Club has undergone significant renovations over the past few months. During extensive upgrades to the bathrooms, a new kitchen, and more improvements from top to bottom, the beloved St. Paul venue has remained closed and shows have been rerouted to other spots.

This week, the Turf Club at long last reopens for a flurry of shows planned over a Grand Reopening weekend.

Thursday, August 28, the Turf will host the already sold-out triple bill of Dead Man Winter, Frankie Lee, and Erik Koskinen.

Friday, August 29, brings the return of hardcore rock kingpins Hammerhead for their Global Depression record release show (check out our feature piece on Hammerhead online and in the print edition of this week's City Pages).

Saturday, August 30, features P.O.S. and Astronautalis's freshly announced Four Fists performance. The duo devastated the Triple Rock with a potent set back in October, and they'll bring along Solid Gold plus other surprise guests. With the Minnesota Music-On-A-Stick show featuring Doomtree happening the same night just up the road at the State Fair, there are a LOT of special guests to choose from.

Finally, Sunday, August 31, the Turf has an indie-heavy Sunday night bill to close out the weekend reopening festivities in style. Night Moves will be joined by Carroll, Rupert Angeleyes, and the Chambermaids for a sure-to-be enchanting evening of guitar- and keyboard-fueled rock 'n' roll.
