The Onion stops printing in Twin Cities, closes A.V. Club in four markets

Today marks the final day of The Onion's local presence in the Twin Cities. Both the print publication of the satirical newspaper, owned by the Pioneer Press, and the companion A.V. Club coverage of local arts and entertainment have closed for financial reasons, according to A.V. Club's Jason Zabel.

Chicago, Madison, and Denver also recently ended their local A.V. Club coverage, which leaves Milwaukee and Toronto as the remaining cities. Both news sources will continue to exist as national entities.

Due to an "international travel schedule," St. Vincent has canceled her performance Friday at the Fitzgerald Theater as part of the Wits series.

Earlier today, it was announced that the artist (real name: Annie Clark) would be making yet another Twin Cities visit this fall on the first date of her joint tour with David Byrne. But now, it looks like we're down to only two visits this year.

The Cranberries cancel Brick show, Dolores O'Riordan is ill

Irish rock group the Cranberries pulled out of their show at the Brick Thursday evening in Minneapolis only a few minutes before they were scheduled to perform.

The cancellation comes because lead singer Dolores O'Riordan has reportedly fallen ill. No further word on her condition, or any additional postponed dates have been posted at this time.
