One of the most memorable parts of Tuesday night's Music for Marriage Equality benefit concert wasn't even part of the set list. After the show ended, former Vikings' defensive tackle Esera Tuaolo took the stage of the Dakota Jazz Club and began talking about punter Chris Kluwe's open letter defending gay marriage.

This past weekend, the 80/35 Music Festival brought headlining acts like Girl Talk, Yelawolf, and Okkervil River to Des Moines, Iowa for two days of fun in the sun. If you missed the fest, we have photos of some of the headliners along with locals Pink Mink in our 80/35 slideshow, and today we are also happy to debut a video of Girl Talk shot by budding Bon Iver documentarian Dan Huiting, which you can watch below.

As part of Marijuana Deathsquads' month-long residency in Los Angeles, the band was able to invite some friends out to play as well. Here's Skoal Kodiak (who share drummer Freddie Votel with MDS) taking on LA last Friday night with bleach bottle in hand and light show ablaze.

​Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings were easily our favorite act at this year's Rock the Garden, and looking back at this footage of her performance, it's easy to see why she won us over so quickly. As we come closer to the Summer solstice and getting ready for a beautiful weekend of music and fun in the sun here's a sample of the dancing room only night of music this past Wednesday courtesy of the masters of Saharan desert sound, Tinariwen. Their stop at the Cedar Cultural Center was nothing short of magical!

​Dance night BOMP! took over the Bedlam once again last Friday night, and local videographer Dan Huiting was on the scene to capture this great video footage of the action. ​Having decamped from Minneapolis to Brooklyn about two years ago, Mux Mool has been working near-constant since, touring and writing and remixing and partying in advance of what may could be a big year for Mr. Lindgren. He's been shouted out as "New Band of the Day" by The Guardian and is receiving myriad huzzahs for his first full-length Skulltaste, released in April by one of the most-respected most-extant current electronic labels, Ghostly International.

He makes his music with a computer, sure, but the past few years of development under that umbrella have yielded electronical artists putting out work as organic-feeling and breathy as any corporeal band. It's been a long goddamn time since Crystal Method and Oakenfold ruled the night -- peruse the Moodgadget site and prove it (or actually don't right now, it's being rebuilt).
