Who's the real threat: Vegan potlucks or Ron Paul's revolutionaries?
Matt Snyders' story on the FBI soliciting informants to infiltrate lefty groups in advance of the Republican National Convention is generating a lot of interest in the blogosphere and has quickly entered our pantheon of Most Viewed articles. From his story:
What they were looking for, Carroll says, was an informant—someone to show up at “vegan potlucks” throughout the Twin Cities and rub shoulders with RNC protestors, schmoozing his way into their inner circles, then reporting back to the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, a partnership between multiple federal agencies and state and local law enforcement. The effort’s primary mission, according to the Minneapolis division’s website, is to “investigate terrorist acts carried out by groups or organizations which fall within the definition of terrorist groups as set forth in the current United States Attorney General Guidelines.”
The funniest part is that the authorities think that "vegan potlucks" are a great place to find rabblerousers. These are people who are so sensitive that they think a Whopper is cruel and unusual. Apparently, when the revolution is televised, it will be served with hummus.
If authorities are serious about protecting the city from riots, they might want to send some of their infilitrators to the next Ron Paul meeting. Just look at this recent video from Paul's supporters, which to my eyes looks like some kind of weird mashup of Birth of a Nation, Triumph of the Will, and The Sims: Fringe Candidates Edition.
Footage of police firing on protestors? Images of Redcoats marching in the Revolutionary War? A soundtrack last used in a Michael Bay movie? If this isn't an incitement to violence, I don't know what is.

That's because you're a moron
Ron Paul is a great American and the author of this article is not.

"If authorities are serious about protecting the city from riots, they might want to send some of their infilitrators to the next Ron Paul meeting."
What country do you live in Hoffman? I live in the United States of America. A place where peaceful protesters and dissenters should be protected from the very government they are railing against.
Instead, you want them infiltrated?
Do us all a favor. Go into your closet, put on your brown shirt and have the guts to begin wearing it out in public. Why not, your writing already labels you as such.
Posted On: Thursday, May. 22 2008 @ 4:11PMWhat's to infiltrate? It's all out on the Internet for everyone to see. The Ron Paul "Revolution" is just a bunch of like-minded people talking together on the Net, reading Paul's book, and wishing God would strike McCain dead (when they're not flooding RP with millions in money bombs). Last I checked, money bombs are not weapons of mass destruction.
Posted On: Thursday, May. 22 2008 @ 4:33PMRon Paul is a great White supremicist party spokesmouth. David Duke v2.0
Posted On: Thursday, May. 22 2008 @ 4:34PMRon Paul has my support, and will have my vote! Wake up America before it's too late. Oh and Jeff
your link was silly.
Anyone who has supported Ron Paul should have always known it would be an uphill battle. Ron Paul was and is up against more than just his fellow Republican candidates, he is up against an established elite that has built up a system of dual political hegemony and has created rules and laws to insure the failure of any challenge to that hegemony. He´s up against banking and other corporate interests, a military industrial complex. They certainly would not want the masses to be honestly informed. They wouldn´t want the message of freedom to get out. That would weaken their grip on the control they enjoy. Unfortunately, the vast majority of our fellow citizens remain fooled by the left right paradigm created to provide the illusion of choice, or at the very least they remain silent and complicit.
Ron Paul seems unelectable to clowns like Kevin Hoffman because they don´t want freedom. They want to be taken care of by the government. They want to be told what to do. They want to be told how to live their lives, what to put in their bodies, and they want the security blanket and protection that mommy government offers them. They are afraid to take responsibility for their own lives. They are frightened at the prospect of thinking for themselves and making their own decisions. They believe that somehow civil society will break down should the free market be allowed to operate without regulation. And these people want to use government to force me and other freedom lovers to give up the same cherished liberties that they have given up. After all, these are the people who have voted for establishment politicians who demand total control of everyone, everywhere, all the time.
Posted On: Thursday, May. 22 2008 @ 5:03PMI'm sorry but I didn't know this was China, I didn't know people who didn't share the same political beliefs should be spied on by federal investigators.
I hope your kind is murdered, plain and simple.
How dare you mock the authorities comrade. They know what they are doing. It is not your place to second guess and publish dissent against them.
Posted On: Thursday, May. 22 2008 @ 5:04PMReality-based Dave:
Let's see... he promotes freedom and liberty FOR ALL (not just for some specific ethnic groups). His track record as a Congressman on racial issues is flawless. The chairman of the Texas NAACP touts him as a great American. As a doctor, he treated without charge hundreds of African Americans, Hispanics, etc., who couldn't afford to pay. One bonehead more than a decade ago writes something in Ron Paul's newsletter that slips by Paul and he is forever more labeled a racist. Gee... even the mainstream media gave up on that lame attempt to slander this great American.
Your comparison to David Duke is amazingly idiotic. So, what is your REAL problem with Ron Paul?

Ron Paul is a man to die for, not bush's war. He has my support and my vote.
Posted On: Thursday, May. 22 2008 @ 5:45PMIs the Declaration of Independence an incitement to violence? If the answer is yes, then it's not Paulites you should fear.
Who exactly should be infiltrating anyone, and under what authority should there be infiltration? And why infiltration?
Posted On: Thursday, May. 22 2008 @ 5:55PMRon Paul is a far, far better man than you could ever hope to be, Hoffman. You will soon have a brown shirt to match your nose, you sniveling little coward. NOBODY explains Ron Paul
BETTER than Ron Paul himself!
Here is an interactive audio archive of
Ron Paul speeches and interviews as a resource in chronological
order.
This is the most moronic post I have ever seen regarding Ron Paul.
Ron Paul's people are not vegans and neither is Ron Paul. He's a red blooded meat-eating American veteran and I can vouch for that personally.
The Revolution we want is the one we need -- the same kind of revolution that gave us our freedom over 200 years ago.
Ron Paul is the man, the only true Republican who is actually concerned with preserving the republic.
Posted On: Thursday, May. 22 2008 @ 6:35PMI'm glad you liked my video. By the way those terroristic quotes were directly out of the Declaration of Independence.
Posted On: Thursday, May. 22 2008 @ 6:37PMThe Reality-based Dave: if you want racism vote for Hillary or Obama. They bring the most nutcases in their baggage. And communism too.
Oh wait, I forgot you love totalitarians.
I do not think you will be seeing RP republicans revolting. We play by the rules. It is the neo-cons who are revolting. BE VERY WARY. The real horror is, the Democrat candidates are WORSE than McCain't..

Reading the posts by the brain-dead nobs on this site that would vote for anyone else but Ron Paul is extremely scary.
It is easy now to see how the Germans gave Hitler free rein to impose his dictatorship. It is happening NOW in the USA.

We incite truth and justice..
If the FBI considers vegans threats then you should wonder why the FBI is still in business.
When they start coming after Americans then the truth is seen clearly. We have criminals in the government acting under color of authority. They are the ones who incite violence with every criminal raid. With every killing of innocent Americans. The FBI can not be trusted anymore.
The Ron Paul Revolution is a peaceful movement. Those who claim otherwise are intent in causing us harm. Let's see who incites who....

He is the only major candidate inciting peace.
Dont attack Ron Paul's people, you sound like a socialist by the way you write, so shouldn't you just be quiet and let the government work out all the problems.
Relax lefty, either way you'll be happy Obama wins and you get to live off the state like the rest of your welfare compadres, or McCain wins and well, you get a democrat in office so you can live off the state
Look at the video, isn't it scary.... you suck kevin hoffman, dont write - because you dont offer anything.

Hey kids: poor Kevin Hoffman is yet another example of what crack does to the human mind. Stay far away from it!
Fellow patriots: remember Dr. Paul has been up against this nonsense a lot longer than we have! Let's look to his fine example of dignity in the face of ridicule and marginalization, and hold our heads high because America IS worth it!
The Revolution: A Manifesto, Ron Paul
Read it, and pass it on.
I for one am happy to see your opinion.
You cast this video as if it is a bad thing.
For this I thank you!

Next thing you know...the FBI will have Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Paine on the MOST WANTED LIST.
God help us!!!!! This is getting disgusting. To all you FBI agents...please re-read the Declaration of Independence and "REVIST" the OATH you took to uphold the Constitution.
By the way, I'm a descendent of John Gilliland, Thomas Hansford and many other American Revolutionaires.....go ahead and "google" them...especially John Gilliland at the battle of King's Mountain. Yep, he and 11 of my family members took out the Royalist Colonel Ferguson, as portrayed in the movie "The Patriot".
Do you think I will be embarrased or ever ashamed of my heritage? Will I ever betray my father and brother who were combat veterans????? The both had the CBI badge earned in combat. Both were awarded the Purple Heart and my dad was awarded the Bronze Star and was a POW. They both were PATRIOTS!!!! They loved America. They loved FREEDOM.
Don't fear us...discover what we are about!!!! READ, THINK...BE AN AMERICAN!!!!
None of us are violent. We are working within the political system for change as Thomas Jefferson asked us to do. Why do you fear Americans? Especially us real conservative, Constitutionally based Americans in the tradition of our Founding Fathers, Taft and Barry Goldwater????
Wake up!!!!!!! American Patriots are waking up!!!!
Many Ron Paul people are dedicated to peaceful change like Gandhi and Martin Luther King.
We want our country, our Constitution and our prosperity and sovereignty secured.
All for America!!!!!!

Posted On: Thursday, May. 22 2008 @ 11:24PMThank you, Hoffman!
You should be my Propaganda Minister! Our Agitprop writers and the Nazi's Joseph Goebbels combined has nothing on you, comrade! I can't wait for common Americans to feel my legacy as their lives are infiltrated by my KBG, now CIA/FBI, loyalists. Vegans, Grannies, Young, Old... infiltrate them all! Remember, we must protect America by getting rid of privacy laws, expand surveillance of citizens under the guise of finding terrorists, make jokes about torture to soften it's moral impacts, and most of all we must remove all their guns! Motherland Defense is priority number one!
In your next article, could you write about how Americans should give up more freedoms for security? Cause we all know that they're just sheep. Sheep need a sheep herder, right? To the gulags they go -- of course, we call them FEMA camps now. ;)
Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 2:54AMIn other words, Mr. Hoffman, you are ENCOURAGING the growth of a police state?
Perhaps, then, you should consider moving to Russia or China.
Although I don't agree with leftists "infiltrating" Republican Conventions, let's face it: The Republican Party is pretty far to the left, as it is. In fact, you criticize the Ron Paul Revolutionaries. Well, take a look at the platforms. Ron Paul and his supporters are far more Conservative than John McCain and many of the Republican elected officials.
Besides, is it really fair to go after these leftist "infiltrators" after so many Republicans jumped ship and voted in the Democratic Primary, then attended those Conventions? Sounds like a double standard to me, sir.
People like you, with your warped values and perspectives, are exactly what has destroyed this country and all the more reason for a Ron Paul.
Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 7:52AMMr. Hoffman, I know the gentleman who edited and directed the video, and I can assure you that:
A) he is against violence
B) he is not a terrorist
C) he is against the Iraq War
So all your allegations are wrong. If you really want proof that I know him, I can send you a copy of the pages from our college yearbook. Or a dozen pictures with both him and I in them. Take your pick.
Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 7:58AMum....i am a vegan and i support ron paul. vegans are the most peaceful people out there since most of us refuse to eat animals or animal by-products because of the way most animals are treated on factory farms. being a peaceful person that has compassion for others, people and animals, i can only logically support ron paul since he's the only candidate that doesn't want our country to police the world and start wars with other countries. he's also guided by the constitution, unlike the other 3 bozos that are running. do some research kevin hoffman, before you write anymore idiotic articles.

Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 11:09AMRon Paul would be feircly opposed to the Government infiltrating Vegan Potlucks.
He stands for freedom, including to be a Vegan and have potlucks, and to protest.
He is on your side, if you were smart enough to realize it. Freedom even means freedom to be an idiot.
Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 11:36AM"For a bunch of people protesting that you're peaceful, you sure make a lot of threats."
Actually, I didn't see anyone make any threats to anyone in this entire thread. It's not a threat to say "I hope you die". It is, however, a threat to say "I'm going to kill you", which no one has even gotten close to saying.
I have been an avid Ron Paul follower since I learned about him about a year ago. I have seen NOTHING from any other supporters about starting a riot. The only people talking about a riot are the anti-RP people. Almost seems like you guys want us to start a riot, just so you can dismiss what we stand for. Who else should we send the FBI to spy on?
This article is disgrace to journalism. Do a little research about the topic you are reporting before writing; think and then speak.
Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 11:47AMMr. Hoffman, you seem to want to brush Ron Paul supporters aside as crazy people. I am MN born, raised, and educated. And I'm a Ron Paul supporter. I work at a technology and marketing company and many of us dicuss Ron Paul amongst ourselves. In the past I have worked in the campaigns of local republican candidates. I attended the county election night reception in 2006. I was a delegate at this year's BPOU convention and I am an alternate at the state convention. I think I have every right to say the party has lost its way on some issues and call for a change. There's nothing wrong with disagreement. Without it, why have elections?
Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 12:00PMKevin Hoffman,
You are a complete fucking idiot. Please move to China or Tajikstan. You would like the government there better.
Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 12:30PMRon Paul is my hero. When the dust settles on this disastrous era in American history, it will be people like Ron Paul who will be borne out as being in the right. If we truly want America to be a great and prosperous nation, we need more Ron Pauls - we will need to take up the banner of revoution begun over 230 years ago. It was a love of inalienable human freedom and individual, God-given liberty which once turned an outpost of the British Empire into the strong Republic we inherited, and it has been the greed, megalomania, and fear of a few that is tearing that apart. Infiltrations of this group or that is part and parcel of this idiotic and dangerous brand of fear that ultimately destroys true Liberty.
We will win this fight if it takes us 100 years.

Take one look at his last name and that should tell you what his problem is, with Ron Paul. Ron Paul doesn't crawl over to Tel Aviv and beg the MASTERS, like George Bush! He believes our leaders should look out for this nation and it's people. Our relationship with the AshkeNazi State is destroying this country! Just checkout the attack on the USS Liberty and that attack took place 40 years ago. The control by the Israeli Firsters has grown since then. Definition Of Israeli Firsters. People who commit TREASON against America to serve the Jewish State. Like George Bush and Dick, Shoot Them In The Face Cheney. The other name is Zionists.

The federal government is at war against its own people. There's a war on drugs, a war on poverty, a war on practically everything, and each one is used as an excuse to steal property, tax the people, and eliminate our natural rights. When Patrick Henry demanded armed resistance to the British, all they had to shoulder was some gun control and a few tea taxes.
What's wrong with us that we put up with so much more tyranny than our forefathers?
Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 1:50PMWell, Ron Paul's supporters infiltrated the Republican party. Turnabout is fair play.
We'd better watch out before these Ron Paul types start infiltrating the government and its agencies.
Enemies of the present government and its authority are enemies of the United States and need to be treated like terrorists. Put 'em in GITMO without a trial or lawyers for a few years - then we'll see how tough these 'revolutionaries' are.
I say incite the full force and power of the federal government on their islamofascist-appeasing fringe crackpot pacifist asses!

If you tell a parent of their child's misdeeds, and the child gets spanked, did you incite the mother to violence?
If you are being attacked, is reaching for your gun a crime, since it will likely result in more violence?
This article presents the premise that any State Aggression is godly and just, while self-defense against ungodly aggression is sinful.
The author is storing up rewards in Hell, I see...
Human government is a rejection of God. It is an attempt to create our own god to punish our evil deeds, because we obviously don't believe God's doing a good enough job.
Is Satan's power greater for laying a few obstacles in the righteous paths, or for getting us all to stop even trying to follow the righteous path, because of his few obstacles?
You can't serve God with evil. You don't serve peace with perpetual war. And asking the government to investigate someone without evidence that a crime has been committed is both fraudulent, and inherently wasteful. If only the accuser had to pay the costs of false prosecution.
Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 2:06PMYeah, sure. Don't fear the Feds and the Police State apparatus that are infiltrating your peer groups, spying on you, collecting data about you, and deceiving you and your friends. The Federal Government needs to spy on you and subvert your thoughts for your own protection.
Instead, fear the Ron Paul supporters for being against the unconstitutional behavior of the surveillance state.
To fear the State would be Thought Crime.

The only terrorists are the FBI and the agent provocateurs they will plant in the rally disguised as Ron Paul fans to stir something up. THEY WANT trouble, while we are adamantly trying to avoid such a thing.
Just so you goons know we will be there at least 10,000 strong, all carrying cameras to record every single movement, so we can figure out who the spies and the agent provocaters are. The information war is two-sided, and if something happens, we will get to the bottom of it!
Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 2:35PMHell Kevin, even Jimmy Carter is an "anti-semite" these days. The charge is no longer a big deal.

Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 2:36PMYou're right Mr. Hoffman. To ever shine a negative light on nuclear armed-to-the-teeth (illegally obtained and built nuclear weapons btw, probably built from knowledge obtained by Turkish and Israeli spies in high places, ala Sibel Edmunds), interventionist, aggressive, "poor innocent victim" Israel is antisemitic (and what great marketers, PR, and PAC they have to sell that Big Lie). To question the motives of AIPAC, our benevolent War Party, and its ever expanding unconstitutional Surveillance State is treasonous.
To not grovel at the feet of AIPAC, rabid Lukidniks, and Zionists, and to make claims that you'll destroy the enemies of a foreign country, is truly Hitlerism. To promise that you'll destroy another country's enemies is Patriotic and American, and to not make promises to defend another nation from existential threats is antisemitic, in the same way that prosecuting Mossad moles like the treasonous traitor Jonathon Pollard and other traitorous, Israel-first Zioclown scum is antisemitic.
Sure it is.
Just remember that Truth is Treason in the Empire of Lies.

Ron Paul and his supporters don't want the government to continue killing Muslims... you connect the dots.
Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 2:44PMI'm all for Ron Paul. A classical liberal: champion of peace, genuine free markets, and friendly international trade... what's not to appreciate? And the tone of the parent post veered awfully close to lauding police state-style internal surveillance.
All that being said, the pro-Paul comments here are, largely, juvenile and embarrassing.
I understand that not every Ron Paul acolyte possesses the pen of a Mencken, a Wilde, a Voltaire, a Chesterton, or even a Bierce. But it sure is nice to dream. You can caustically deride the author of the parent post without coming off like a school cafeteria bully.
Sure, the parent post is offensive. But why respond in kind?
Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 2:44PMCointelpro,

Kevin Hoffman,
Just to assure you, Ron Paul supporters are NOT anti-semitic. Ron Paul's Revolution is founded on the principles of the Constitution, the ideals held by our Founding Fathers: live and let live.... to each his own.
Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 2:56PMMr. Hoffman:
1) The philosophy of libertarianism is premised in nonaggression and the rights of property and for that you should be aware that Dr. Paul is against any form of violence and or threats of violence.
2) There have not been any threats of violence made by any Paul support that I have read here. I suggest you learn to read.
3) You make a fallacy when you try to equate the validity of the such a peaceful message with the person making it or the people who happen to support it. This is basic logic.
4) In regard to the "anti-semitic" comments you were referring to they were not, in fact, anti-semitic. One can be against the doctrines of Zionism (google it) and still not hate Jews, for example.
5) As a Paul supporter I don't appreciate being lumped into your collectivist dogma. We are individuals first and foremost and we just want to be left alone.

Many of us would die to defend your right to keep your political views and free speech, even if those views and speech are contrary to what we believe in.
"I don't agree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it!" Does this quote not apply to the author? Are we all to be socialist vegans? Those who do not choose your path must be investigated by the FBI?
Honestly, I'm sure if you go back and re read what you wrote, and then come to an understand of the consequences of what you are calling for, you will post a retraction. Otherwise you are just as bad as the neo-cons, who believe all civil liberties and freedoms must be quashed for the health of the state. For some reason I feel that you aren't one to look at a government made, steel and barbwire 'free speech zone' and start busting with pride for your country. So stop trying to push others into such travesties.

We've seen too many monuments made not out of marble or stone but out of barbed wire and terror. But from these terrible places have come survivors, witnesses to the triumph of the human spirit over the mystique of state power, prisoners whose spiritual values made them the rulers of their guards. With their survival, they brought us “the secret of the camps,” a lesson for our time and for any age: Evil is powerless if the good are unafraid."

Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 10:14PMAn article truly worthy of Fox News....
These leftists hate the Bush administration because they are identical to it in tactics. Its called projection.
Posted On: Friday, May. 23 2008 @ 10:16PMUnfortunately it took segregationist Governor Wallace to reveal the truth that "there's not a dime's worth of difference between" Republicans and Democrats. The Democrats willingly went along with the War in Iraq, suspension of Habeas Corpus, detaining protesters, banning books like "America Deceived' from Amazon, stealing private lands (Kelo decision), warrant-less wiretapping and refusing to investigate 9/11 properly. They are both guilty of treason.
Support Dr. Ron Paul and save this great nation.

America Deceived (book)
Hoffman, bet you voted for the idiot Bush twice and would do it again if you could.LOL. Like Bush, you are a moron and haven't a clue. What utter ignorance. No wonder this country is going down the tubes. Ron Paul is one of the few real patriots left.

Posted On: Saturday, May. 24 2008 @ 12:54AMRon Paul worships the Prince of Peace, opposes foreign interventionism, wants the government to quit micro-managing our lives and wants government to quit forcing people to follow so many Unconstitutional laws! The majority of his supporters feel the same and want to live free in peace! To say all his supporters are violent is absurd! You're the one who shouldn't be taken seriously,Mr. Hoffman! Judging the vast majority of Paul supporters by a few hotheads and their angry rhetoric is like judging all vegetarians by the actions of animal rights extremists like ALF or by the vegetarian and Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler!

Thanks for stirring the pot and arriving at the predetermined conclusion. These 'revolutionaries' are so predictable.
Posted On: Saturday, May. 24 2008 @ 9:14AMAMAZING! What an inspiring moment it has been to read this entire page of comments!!! What patriotism I see! What goodness! What zeal! Is it not incredible that ONE small article like this giving such disinformation about Ron Paul's movement has resulted in no less than EIGHTY comments IN SUPPORT of Ron Paul!!
WOW!!!
I am inspired!
Thank you everyone for your comments! And for your support of TRUTH and REAL FREEDOM! I just want to shake all of your hands right now!
Let me just remind everyone, too, that in the true spirit of this revolution, we must not give in and resort to the violent or hateful tactics of our detractors. I know it is tempting to hurl insults at people who post articles like this but that is not what we are about, is it? We are about PEACE, remember, and what we ultimately want is for everyone to get along and to realize the truth. In that light, please, I urge you all to retain the most respectful tone possible whenever you post or speak about Ron Paul and the ideas behind this revolution. For the detractors to come over to our side, they must first feel appreciated and welcomed by us, not insulted and attacked, no matter how much their comments seem to insult and incorrectly portray us.
So stay strong Paulites! Stay active, stay informed, stay peaceful and stay determined.
Cheers!
Posted On: Saturday, May. 24 2008 @ 9:59AMBy the way Kevin, I want you to know that I appreciate your side of things and I apologize for the overreaction and zeal of some of my compatriots. But please think back for a moment to a time when something happened within our government that made YOU angry. Maybe it was Clinton lying about "sexual relations with that woman". Maybe it was the justification for the Iraq war. Shoot, I don't know your age so maybe it was Watergate or something else. But there MUST have been a time within memory that you were angry about something in our government. And at that time, didn't you find that it was difficult not to feel negative toward people who didn't agree with your position. When you saw something so clearly that you knew someone at some level of our government was trying to lie to you, didn't that upset you? Didn't it make you want to tell everyone how messed-up it was?
Well, please understand that many who believe in Dr. Paul's message, myself included, happen to believe this is THE worst betrayal of public trust EVER to occur in the white house. And many of us also happen to believe that if correction are not made, it may quite LITERALLY lead to the end of freedom and liberty as we know it today. Now, I hope you can at least accept that if you were to believe the same thing, you would be angry too. Wouldn't you?? I mean, I believe you are a good American at heart, as I think we all are, and you just happen to have different conclusions about what's going on. Perhaps this is because you find Dr. Paul's assertations too difficult to believe, or perhaps it's because you just haven't been presented with all the info you need in order to understand our side of things. Then again, perhaps the overzealousness of certain Paulites has simply turned you off to the message they represent. But please, believe me, our intentions are honest and true, and if anyone has offended your intelligence in this matter, please understand that it is merely the pent-up frustration of a person who is feeling oppressed and disenfranchised and is losing faith in our system as it is. The frustration, I believe, is entirely justified. The comments that insult your intelligence, however, are not. They are simply snap reactions that betray an underlying angst about the situation we are in.
Please take some time to reconsider this matter. Please remember that the message is not always perfectly represented by its messengers. After all, we are only human...something I fear most of our government leaders would NEVER admit about themselves...although Ron Paul will and has!
:)
Anyway, I respect your current view on things and I hope you will give Ron Paul's message another chance. I encourage you to take a deeper look and I hope you will see what it is that has us all so inspired to follow him.
Thanks.
Posted On: Saturday, May. 24 2008 @ 10:15AMKevin, people tend to get upset when you suggest sending the FBI after them. If you'd gone with a rational discussion of Ron Paul's views, you'd have gotten a different response.
Posted On: Saturday, May. 24 2008 @ 11:18AMSurely you have been called a lot of names Kevin, maybe some more accurate than others but I won’t join that fray. What is incendiary about your writing is that you make silly analogies, comparing RNC protestors and your vegan rabble-rousers to Ron Paul supporters. Whether out of ignorance, servility to big government or being a rabble-rouser in your own way it makes no difference.
What escapes you is that the Ron Paul Revolution is nothing like the bluster of socialists, neocons, progressives, fascists or communists, for each of those are just factions fighting for political power at the federal level to foist their own particular tyrannies upon the states and their people.
The revolution of ideas that is the Ron Paul Revolution is nothing new; it is purely the return to the spirit of the American Revolution and the Constitution. That revolution was a conservative one (they wanted to conserve their liberties and way of life), the colonists who previously enjoyed self government at the colonial and local level with minimal intrusions from England came into conflict with growing coercive power from men from a distant capital. Although that revolution unfortunately became a bloody one instead of being resolved through peaceful means, it was not the rabble-rousers who caused the bloodbath, it was the new unrelenting use of British police power, oppressive economic regulation and powers of taxation that triggered it. We Americans face some stark similarities today in relation to those in D.C. who think they have no limits in their powers to legislate.
This county is ill suited for meaningful revolution in government today. See the majority, the Utopian followers of Obama, Clinton or McCain. The throng’s illiterate of their history and the concepts of freedom and liberty. All stupidly propose more federal powers to solve their woes, all unwilling to admit that their present woes have been caused by increased federal powers instituted by the stupidity of previous generations.
Dear Sir,
I do not attack those who hold a different opinion than me. I try to remain courteous to those with whom I disagree with. I'd appreciate it if you extended me the same courtesy, rather than calling me childish names and attacking my views. I am a Republican. I'm not some hippie protester who doesn't even know what they're opposed to. It is my hope that I'll have the privilege to attend the convention, as a Republican (and hopefully, if things go well, as a delegate). If I am so inclined to voice my disapproval of party failure on principle and support a return to the party platform, why shouldn't I be allowed to do that? The real threat to the Republican party is naysayers like yourself who have no interest in Republican principles. Ron Paul and his supporters are not plotting to take over the convention and get him elected (although if you wake up to reality and recognize John McCain's imminent defeat, we'll be happy to step in and win the presidency).
A GOP Civil War is inevitable at this point, and not because of Ron Paul's supporters' actions. It is because of the hostile actions of the party hierarchy and those like yourself that continue to try and push us out. The more you push, the more we will push back, and we are resolved to bring the party back to its roots. If you're so opposed to that, perhaps you'd feel more comfortable with the Democrats. The present GOP is doomed. They will either continue on their present course and meet utter defeat in future elections, or they will be replaced with our principles. Either way, their days are numbered. So, you may spend your time attacking and poking fun, but I will have the last laugh. I will laugh when you lose, and I will laugh when I win.
Posted On: Saturday, May. 24 2008 @ 2:55PMI've been a Republican all my life and am now a follower of Ron Paul. Ron Paul has good ideas that are worthy of peaceful discussion not violent confrontation. I remember watching on TV the Chicago Democratic Convention of 1968 with the violence outside and the confusion and meaness inside. Truthfully this video does not do Dr. Paul or his ideas justice. This is a propaganda film of the first water that will only hurt us. If folks go to St Paul with the intent to "take on the establishment" and one, just one, death occurs Dr. Paul's ideas and everyones hard work to advance Dr. Paul and his ideas will be for naught. I find it hard to believe that Ron Paul has OK'd or has even seen this video. I have always thought that Dr. Paul stands for peace and liberty not violent confrontation. What we don't need now is our movement getting an everlasting bad name that will follow us beyond this November's election. I voted for Ron Paul in the Primary and I will write in his name in November. We need to continue to work within our local Republican Party and in our communities to keep Dr. Paul's ideas out there for public discussion. We do not need a blackeye that we continually have to apologize for. The deadwood and power brokers that inhabit the upper reaches of the GOP would just love that.
Posted On: Saturday, May. 24 2008 @ 3:40PMMy god. Ron Paulites are crazier than anyone suspected. Do everyone a favor and attempt to change politics in the real way, democratically. BS dogma has got you how far? Get real. Either infiltrate the supreme court or pull a real coup; otherwise, vote like the rest of us and participate. Fucking America is the greatest country and your bitching is close to retarded.
Posted On: Saturday, May. 24 2008 @ 5:57PMMerriam Websters Dictionary says this about "Agent Provocateur": one employed to associate with suspected persons and by pretending sympathy with their aims to incite them to some incriminating action.
Having read your article Mr. Hoffman, especially the part about "If this isn't an incitement to violence, I don't know what is" it looks/sounds like you are part of an "Operation". Who do you really work for?
What flavor of kool aid do you drink Eric?
You really don't understand politics do you nor do you pay close attention to current events.
Or course it's easy to believe that you can change politics in a real way by the mere act of voting when you have no principles (or BS Dogma as you say).
How's that worked so far?
Craigbob, you sound like a nice person and I'm sure your an intelligent person but if you think you can convince people like Mr. Hoffman to become Ron Paul supporters your dead wrong. These people continue to attack Ron Paul and anyone that supports him and call them terrorists. They hate us. It's as simple as that.
As far as what I said about him being Jewish. I know people that have that name, that are Jewish and considering how groups like the ADL have responded to Ron Paul and his supporters, I don't think my comment wasn't out of line. Mr Hoffman doesn't like it, too bad. I basically accused him of being Jewish and because he is Jewish, he hates Ron Paul and his supporters. Because Ron Paul will place America first. Not the Jewish State, like George Bush. Barrack Obama is under constant attack because Jewish Groups are afraid he wont put the Jewish state ahead of this country like George Bush. Look at what I accused him of and look at what he has accused me and everyone that supports Ron Paul of. I've studied Zionism and I know all about the attack on the USS Liberty in 1967 by the Israeli military and I'm convinced that it was an intentional attack and it was covered up by our government. That cover up continues to this day. There has never been a proper investigation of that attack. Ron Paul has a lot of good ideas but if we are going to save this country, we have to break free of the Zionist monster that has a death grip on this nation. When our government would lie to cover up an attack by a foreign power on one of our own ships, then we are in big trouble. The President, Vice President and Secretary Of Defence all committed Treason against our country. They covered it up. That was over 40 years ago. Zionist control over this country has grown since then. I'll close by leaving these quotes.
"Our race is the master race. We are divine gods on this planet. We are as different from the inferior races as they are from insects. In fact compared to our race, other races are beasts and animals, cattle at best. Other races are considered as human excrement. Our destiny is to rule over the inferior races. Our earthly kingdom will be ruled by our leader with a rod of iron. The masses will lick our feet and serve us as our slaves." - Menachem Begin - Israeli leader 1977-1983
"We possess several hundred atomic warheads and rockets and can launch them at targets in all directions, perhaps even at Rome. Most European capitals are targets for our air force... Let me quote General Moshe Dayan: "Israel must be like a mad dog, to dangerous to bother." I consider it all hopeless at this point. We shall have to try to prevent things from coming to that, if at all possible. Our Armed forces, however, are not the thirtieth strongest in the world, but rather the second or third. We have the capability to take the world with us. And I can assure you that that will happen, before Israel goes under."
Martin van Creveld
"They are the so-called neo-con, or neoconservatives-conservatives. A compact group, almost all of whose members are Jewish. They hold the key positions in the Bush administration, as well as in the think-tanks that play an important role in formulating American policy and the ed-op pages of the influential newspapers...
Seemingly, all this is good for Israel, America controls the world, we control America. Never before have Jews exerted such an immense influence on the center of world power." - Uri Avnery,"The Night After," Counterpunch, April 10, 2003
This is just a small sample of Zionist bragging. It isn't the only time they have bragged about controlling our country or referring to non Jews as animals and insects.
