Koren Robinson: In what sense bulletproof?

Casual Fan, Call me wierd, queer, or even girlie-man, But, I prefer to enjoy the the female-form all by my lonesome in a private and intimate setting. Sharing this in a room (or boat) full of sweaty, oogling, testoterone filled men with raging hard-ons kind of ruins the moment for me.

• Brad Childress does NOT look like Ned Flanders. He looks like Mr. Noodle on Sesame Street.

• I have no problem with a boatload of consenting adults doing as they please, none whatsoever. But society's reaction to an incident such as this, involving sports celebrities, prompts a specific response from management - headshaking, tsk tsking, pearl-clutching, calls for conduct codes, etc. Maybe management really hired Childress because he looks like Ned Flanders?

• (Warning. I don't mean to cause trouble, or maybe I do.) Why is it a lapse in judgement to hop on a boat full of booze and dancers? I think it would be a lapse of judgement to pass that up. I think that many people quickly called for these black men's heads because "just think of those little white girls being ogled by those big muscular african-americans!!1" Our little Minnesota girls are pure! No sex or alcohol for them! Please. Do you know how many boats full of white business men and senators are on the lakes every weekend snorting coke up their noses and having sex with high school girls? Neither do I but it is probably a lot! And just to clear up any confusion about the post from Mr. Miller, is your Christ the only deity that can help Koren? What about Buddha? Or Vishnu? Or how about Allah? You should give these other guys a chance or is alcoholism your god's specialty? Ok, well, I think my job is done here. Hopefully I've lightened up the proceedings and injected a healthy dose of awesome into this blog. I'm out!

• What's our record gonna be this year, ya think? I'm saying 6-10. Minnesota is the land of franchise mismanagement. Dropping Daunte and Randy Maw for nothing were two unforgivable sins. And if Boner Brad gets hurt, we fucked double time. It just sickens me. We shouldn't even have to pin our hopes on Koren f'in Robinson. Then there's the T Wolves, but I'll wait a few more months for Britt's kickass blog to whine about that. By the way, do we still have Nate Burleson, or is he gone? Remember how he was touted as the franchise's future before last season? So so funny. I work in Germany right now. I say, go Frankfurt Galaxy!

• It is obvious from Koren Robinson's history, that he has a problem and needs help. Personally dealing with a family member who was addicted to alcohol, it's hard to beat. But with Christ, it can be done. Quite throwing stones! Pray for the brother. Koren you'll be in my prayers. You'll get free. And you'll be back.

• I'm not familiar with Robinson's pattern of conduct from his Seattle days beside the arrest in May 2005, nor do I agree with his attempting to flee from police, but I believe there is a distinction to be made between the lapse in judgment of hopping on a boat full of booze and dancers vs. the daily struggle of alcohol addiction. Robinson needs to answer for his conduct with under the influence, of course, but he should do his time after a stint in rehab.

• Who's fault is it here? Koren is not the only athlete that thinks he's "above" reprisal. Unfortunately, we in Minnesota have experienced an abundance of such athlete's disdainful behavior's. More recently, escapades such as the "Love Boat Scandal" have tarnished who we the fan clamber to respect and lift as heroes of sorts. The blame should be segmented, and finally handled correctly. Parents, schools, cultures, and we the fans need to accept some blame for these misdeeds. For, if we refuse to pay the attention or extend accolades to these overgrown/overdosed delinquents, then we just may finally see people playing the sport we love. It's at this time that we as fans will get the respect back that we too deserve. Sincerely, Fan that finally removed the blinders!

• Should this surprise anyone? There is a reason that a former Top-10 1st round draft pick becomes available for us to pick up cheap. He was, is, and will be a liability off the field. News Flash: Robinson will not play in the NFL in 2006. He has been suspended by the league previously for violating the substance abuse policy, meaning any future legal trouble invloving drugs/alcohol would result in a year suspension ala Onterrion Smith or Ricky Williams. Good news for Koren: Since NFL rules do not cross over to other leagues, he can return to the Pacific Northwest to continue his pro -sports carreer as a member of the Portland Jailblazers this year.

• I'd like to see Robinson do well and get his life in order, but enough is enough. I blogged this morning about how it's time for the Vikings to cut ties with him. Minnesota preaches character, they need to continue to pracitce character.
