New Cubs Asst. GM: Randy Bush

• Not really newsworthy, as he already was working for Cubs: he went from assistant to the GM to assistant GM. I'm guessing he didn't even have to move into a new office. As a talent evaluator, Bush was pretty decent: 11 of his players at the University of New Orleans (where he was head coach for five seasons) are playing pro ball, including Thomas Diamond (a sure pro in the Texas Rangers' system) and a middling prospect with the Twins, J.P. Martinez. (Many of his better prospects played with the St. Cloud River Bats of the Northwoods League, so local fans had their chances to see them.)
