St. Paul's Brett Rogers will be next to fight Kimbo Slice in EliteXC
This despite the fact that Kimbo's last fight, broadcast on CBS, was absolutely awful. In a tailor-made matchup against a tomato can whose famous for charging at his opponents with his chin out, Kimbo barely survived to the third round, where he managed to eke out the win thanks to a controversial early stoppage.
That said, Kimbo is without a doubt a very scary man. He is the "internet legend" made famous through a series of YouTube clips of street fights that ended very badly for those foolish enough to take the bait. Here's a "Best Of" video:
So who is the next man to face Kimbo? St. Paul's own Brett Rogers, who called Kimbo out.
It happened at the press conference following Kimbo's disappointing performance on CBS. Brett Rogers criticized Kimbo, who leapt up and said, "That sounds like a challenge big dog!"
Rogers has actually been calling out Kimbo since his debut at Renegade (the video I was buying at Best Buy). Brett was on the same card and faced a tougher opponent and looked better beating him. It should also be noted that Rogers had previously obliterated James Thompson, the inferior opponent who gave Kimbo so much trouble.
Needless to say, I will be rooting for local boy Brett Rogers in this contest.
